MAGICAL-REALISTIC WORLD
CONTINENTS
Two people try to keep going in a daily routine, while sinister, violent cravings are emerging through the cracks in their perfect existence. The line dividing man from beast seems dangerously thin within the four walls of their living room. Music, design and light combine to create a magical-realistic on-stage world, in which the divisions between dayto-day drudgery, fantasy and nightmare gradually erode.
The Brazilian choreographer Bruno Beltrão started a revolution in hip-hop by combining it with other styles of modern dance. In this dance production, ten dancers argue the case for freedom of movement by testing the boundaries between hiphop, breakdance and contemporary dance. They demonstrate the ambivalent nature of human relationships: sometimes gentle and subtle, sometimes threatening and explosive. > 12 March, Stadsschouwburg Utrecht stadsschouwburg-utrecht.nl

Theatre DREAM AWAY
JULIA & OTHER LOVE STORIES The dancers of the Dutch Don’t Dance Division bring an ode to love, one of the greatest sources of inspiration for countless choreographers. What should you expect? Love duets, solos and group dances, all performed to dreamy music by Purcell, Prokofiev, Gershwin and Bette Midler’s adaptation of ‘When a Man loves a Woman’. Not forgetting the most famous romantic tragedy of all time: Romeo & Juliet. > 21 March, Podium Hoge Woerd podiumhogewoerd.nl
