Underwater Asset Coating specialist Propspeed has hired Matt Forbes to fill the role of Sales Director – EMEA. He will man new Propspeed locations in Europe, enhancing support for current and future customers. Forbes comes to Propspeed with a successful background in retail sales management for companies such as Samsung, Navman and FUSION Entertainment, as well as his own consulting business, Forge Group. Forbes is based in London, England.
Marcus Hamilton has been appointed Vice President Sales & Operations – Americas at Propspeed. He joins the company following a six-year stint as International Marketing Manager for FUSION Entertainment, leading the company through a number of successful product launches. He brings with him a solid understanding of the marine industry and an exemplary reputation for executing multi-facetted product launches.
One Sea, the industry alliance aiming to lead the way towards an operating autonomous maritime ecosystem by 2025, has appointed Captain Eero Lehtovaara as its new Chairman. The Master Mariner is Head of Regulatory & Public Affairs at ABB Marine & Ports. His past experience at sea provides a unique understanding of the challenges set by new regulations, human resource management and technological developments.
Torqeedo has appointed Jochen Engelmann as vice-president sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA. In this position, Mr Engelmann will have responsibility for expanding sales and driving the company’s growth across the EMEA region for Torqeedo’s marine electromobility systems. Mr Engelmann comes to Torqeedo from Volvo Penta, where he was head of sales, central Europe for the industrial engine division.

Wallem Group Managing Director for Ship Agency Services, Dickson Chin, has joined Hong Kong’s Advisory Committee on Cruise Industry. ACCI advises the government of Hong Kong on measures aimed at developing as a leading cruise hub in the region. Wallem has held a position on the committee since its inception in 2008, but Mr Chin’s appointment is expected to result in new levels of innovation in devising initiatives to meet ACCI aims.
Dennis Devlin has joined A.P. Møller–Mærsk as the shipping company’s senior director for special project logistics in North America. He has spent his career in international project transportation and logistics and previously worked at DB Schenker, Panalpina, and BDP International in Houston, Philadelphia and Shanghai. While in Shanghai, Devlin was Vice Chairman of the AmCham Logistics Committee for the Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce.
