OF THINGS COST-EFFECTIVE CONNECTED HOME Mobile in Africa distributes an array of Xiaomi connected products, which can be centralised with its Smart Hub or controlled via its Mi Home app. Some of the devices that can be connected to almost mimic aspects of a home automation system include the Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro, the Mi Motion Sensor (which can detect movement and sound an alarm), Mi Wireless Switch (to control household appliances), Mi Smart Air Fryer and Mi Window and Door Sensor. “Our Mi Smart Hub allows all your connected smart devices to be controlled from a common touchpoint,” says Sashan Lalbiharry, Mobile in Africa e-commerce manager. “The Smart Hub acts as a central location for the management of your smart devices, providing total control of all connected devices.” Installing fully automated home and security systems can cost you thousands, he says – and in most cases require professionals or very tech-savvy individuals to install and set up. “In many cases your home may need to be fully rewired or require some sort of additional wiring,” says Lalbiharry.
