The colour of your lenses is not relevant. Darker glasses are not necessarily better. Polarised lenses are helpful in that they reduce glare which is caused by light reflecting off of a smooth or flat surface like a car bonnet or water in a pool or the sea. So, go for polarised lenses wherever possible, and double check to make sure they’re equipped with broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection as it is not always the case.

Tener un cachorro es muy emocionante, ¡pero que use tu brazo como juguete para mordisquear no es tan divertido! ¿Qué puedes hacer en ese caso? Primero, pensemos en razones por las que podría estar clavándote los dientes. Los cachorros suelen tener 26 dientes de leche. Estos son muy finos ¡y afilados!. Empiezan a salir a las 2 semanas de edad y los cachorros ya suelen tenerlos todos a las 6 semanas. Gettinga puppy is so exciting, but it’s less fun when they think your arm is a chew toy! So, what can you do about it? Firstly, let’s think about why they might be sinking their teeth into you.

A puppy’s baby teeth consist of 26 deciduous teeth. These are very fine and very sharp! They start coming through at 2 weeks of age and puppies usually have their full set by 6 weeks. When these baby teeth start to fall out, you may find these little white needles on the floor, but don’t be surprised if you don’t find any, most dogs swallow them as they fall out. Dogs typically have 42 adult teeth which erupt in order, replacing the deciduous teeth. Incisors come first between 2-4 months, canine teeth next at 5-6 months, then premolars between 4-6 months and finally molars at 4-7 months. Therefore, a pup can be teething from 2 weeks until they are 7 months old! The teething usually comes in waves and will affect their behaviour during that time.

So how can you help a teething pup? Offer a variety of different items to chew, some hard; like a wooden stick or a Himalayan Yak Milk chew, some softer; a chunky rope toy or a dried rabbit’s ear or turkey neck, and some soft; like a stuffed toy or blanket. Sometimes they want something cold to sooth the pain! You can soak a rope toy in bone-broth or low-salt gravy and freeze it, give them a homemade ice treat, or they may even like a frozen carrot!

Young puppies are learning all the time and they use their mouth to explore, it’s completely normal, but hurts if they bite you! Old advice was to make a high-pitched noise or scream, we now know this isn’t the best thing to do. Some dogs find the scream exciting; it may rev them up even more, on the other hand some pups may fear the noise, and you don’t want to be the source of something which scares them! Prepare yourself and give them an alternative toy to play with instead. I highly recommend picking up a stuffed toy roughly the size of your pup, so you’ll need bigger ones as they grow. This only comes out when they go into puppy shark mode. They can wrestle and bite the stuffed toy instead of you!

A final thing to mention is sleep, puppies need a lot of sleep….roughly 18 hours per day. Make sure your pup isn’t getting over tired as they usually tell you with their mouth!

Located at the far end of Torre del Mar, in the direction of Almayate, behind the feria car parking zone and next to the dog beach, is the fabulous La Terraza de Mangoa. Traditionally a venue for weddings and other celebrations, this beautiful beach front terrace and garden opens each summer as a restaurant and beach club. Offering a garden bar and large shaded terrace, this is a beutiful venue to enjoy lunch or dinner or even just to call in for a drink and enjoy the setting and the views. The restaurant menu is an eclectic mix of local, mediterranean and international cuisines, prepared using only the finest and freshest ingredients, all of which are sourced locally where possible. The menu features sharing platters, individual dishes, snacks and smaller dishes.

As well as the regular service and menu, La Terraza de Mangoa offers themed dinner menus, including a Japanese Sushi menu every Thursday evening. The themed menus are offered alongside the usual restaurant menu.

The outdoor bar also operates as a service bar to the beach and offers a full selection of chilled drinks, beers, wines, cocktails, coffees and ice creams.

If you have not yet experienced what this wonderful venue has to offer, you are in for a real treat. Reservations are recommended, but if you are in the area, feel free to call in and and enjoy the wonderful ambience, great food and excellent service.

Tradicionalmente un local para bodas y otras celebraciones, su bonita terraza y jardines frente a la playa abren cada verano como restaurante y club de playa. Ofreciendo un jardín con bar y una amplia terraza con sombra, este es el local ideal para disfrutar del almuerzo, la cena, o simplemente pasar a tomar una bebida y disfrutar del lugar y sus vistas.

La carta del restaurante es una fusión ecléctica de cocina local, mediterránea e internacional, preparada usando sólo los mejores y más frescos ingredientes, todos de origen local siempre que es

posible. Su carta incluye raciones, platos individuales, aperitivos y platos ligeros. Además de su menú y servicio habituales, La Terraza de Mangoa ofrece cenas temáticas, incluyendo un menú japonés de sushi las noches de los jueves. Los menús temáticos se ofrecen junto a la carta habitual.

La Nueva Restinga Beach

Aftera long wait for the usual paperwork to be finalised, Restinga Beach was finally given the go ahead during the winter, to totally transform this popular beachside venue. It has been given a fresh new look with every aspect of the venue being given a rebuild. The transformation is incredible. The finishing touches are still being made on a weekly basis, but after a long wait the fabulous beachside restaurant and terrace is open for business and looking forward to welcoming you once again.

So what can you expect from the new Restinga Beach? Well, the menu hasn’t changed, it still offers the same high quality Mediterranean favourites that you have become accustomed to at Restinga Beach. Enjoy a selection of succulent meats, fresh fish and seafood, spectacular salads, soups, casseroles and a fabulous selection of Paella and rice dishes, which are a house speciality and need to be tasted to be believed. The eclectic menu is created using only the finest and freshest ingredients, sourced locally where possible. Come along and enjoy a lazy lunch, a gin and tonic or even just a freshly brewed coffee on the spacious and shaded terrace with beautiful beach and sea views. Why not take a beach bed for the day and take advantage of the beach bar offering cocktails, chilled beers, soft drinks, ice creams and so much more ...and all without having to leave the sandy beach.
