Oskar Peterlini, PhD
Oskar Peterlini, born 1950, expert of public law and autonomies, 2001-2013 a representative of his autonomous Region Trentino South Tyrol in the Italian Parliament, 1978-1998 of the Regional Parliament and its President (1988-1998). He awarded a doctorate (PhD) with a thesis about the Italian constitutional reforms and their consequences on the special autonomy of South Tyrol, and one about the effects of electoral systems on language minorities. In the Nineties he created an innovative complementary pension system, based on the three pillar Social security for his region. He has a distinguished background as a guest speaker on various Universities, is working now at the University of Bozen and is the author of several books relating to the constitutional reforms in Italy, about federalism and electoral systems, protection of minorities and the Special Statute of this North-Italian Autonomous Region, as well as about the new pension system in Italy.
