ello 2021! The past year brought us many twists, turns and plenty of curve balls, but also taught us a lot. 2020 taught us how to slow down, to look for the silver linings in everything and of course the importance of our health, both physically and mentally. Taking care of ourselves and family has a lot to do with the food we consume. Each new year brings about new trends Here are a few healthy eating trends that have staying power and won’t fade away.

Expect to find new and innovative products to help boost our immune system and mental health. Food can either be the best form of medicine or the quickest form of poison. Our physical and mental health are affected by what we eat, so it’s crucial to consume foods high in nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that support our bodies. Choose colorful fruits and vegetables and check out a variety of new products on the market, that are filled with ingredients like vitamin C, mushrooms, and calming adaptogens to support our immune system and our mental health.

Each year there’s a rockstar food that stands out, like cauliflower in 2020, and this year it’s the mighty chickpea. Chickpeas can be found in everything! They’re not just found in hummus, pasta and falafel, but these protein and fiber packed legumes are about to show up everywhere (hello edible cookie dough!). Chickpeas are not only good for you, but extremely versatile, whether you use them from a can or purchase as a trendy new product, don’t knock it till you try it!
