CABINET OF CURIOSITIES Gucci has a new home in Brisbane’s QueensPlaza.
FOUNDED IN FLORENCE IN 1921, Gucci is one of the world’s leading luxury brands, with a renowned reputation for creativity, innovation and Italian craftsmanship. Each Gucci boutique is a ‘cabinet of curiosities’, created to delight and inspire and their newly relocated store in Brisbane’s QueensPlaza is no exception. The boutique spans over 3,313 square feet and houses a wide selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, accessories, watches, jewellery, eyewear and fragrances. Notable attendees including The Veronicas, Mimi Elashiry, Laura Jade Stone, Deena Lynch and Cub Sport were on hand for the recent opening.

In keeping with the eclecticism that characterises Gucci’s collections, the fashionforward label’s new home sees the combination of traditional and modern, industrial and romantic. Once customers have crossed the threshold, they are invited to feel welcome and relaxed in the discreet interior, where understated drama is created by the surprising and unexpected combination of surfaces and materials. The façade in Arabascato Orbico marble, the first of its kind in the South East Asia Pacific store network, welcomes visitors and sets the tone with its striking Rhombus pattern. Soft elements like velvet armchairs and vintage dark wood display furniture offset harder surfaces and industrial elements, such as rivets.
