A L I T T L E K N O W N FA C T Lake Cootharaba is Queensland’s biggest natural saltwater lake. The lake is 10km long and 5km wide and is the gateway to Australia’s only Everglades system.
W H Y W E LOV E I T H E R E The area is perfect for nature lovers and families. Lake Cootharaba is very shallow, making it a safe place to swim, kayak and play. There are a number of popular spots for camping and fishing and the area has its own brewery and historic pub, the Apollonian.
HIDDE N GE M Travel back in time and visit historic Mill Point, a former sawmill and township which was home to over 100 people in the 1800s. It is an easy 2.5km walk from Elanda Point to this historical site.
