CAVIA E YOUNG N SANG PROTAGONISTI DI “S|STYLE SUSTAINABLE STYLE” I due brand emergenti di menswear sostenibile hanno presentato i materiali Brewed Protein™ di Spiber nella mostra alla Fondazione Pitti Discovery alla scorsa edizione di Pitti Uomo. La fibra Brewed Protein di Spiber è stata scelta dal Material Innovation Lab (MIL) di Kering e dalla Fondazione Pitti Discovery come materiale protagonista della 7a edizione di “S|Style Sustainable Style”. Si tratta di fibre proteiche fermentate di Spiber, cioè materiali proteici circolari coltivati in laboratorio e prodotti attraverso la fermentazione microbica. Tra i brand selezionati che hanno presentato delle collezioni esclusive realizzate con Brewed Protein™ fiber troviamo young n sang - linea di abbigliamento maschile sudcoreana nota per le sue eccezionali tecniche di tessitura a mano - e Cavia - marchio italiano con sede a Milano famoso per il riutilizzo e l’upcycling dei capi-. Per la prima volta entrambi i marchi hanno svelato al pubblico le loro collezioni nella mostra alla Fondazione Pitti Discovery, offrendo un esempio tangibile di come la tecnologia possa ridurre l’impatto dell’industria della moda sull’ambiente, sostituendo i tradizionali materiali e i metodi di produzione a base petrolchimica con soluzioni innovative e a base biologica, offrendo al contempo prodotti di eccezionale bellezza e piacevolezza al tatto. Spiber's Brewed Protein fibre was chosen by Kering's Material Innovation Lab (MIL) and the Fondazione Pitti Discovery as the protagonist material of the 7th edition of 'S|Style Sustainable Style'. It consists of Spiber's fermented protein fibres, i.e. circular protein materials grown in a laboratory and produced through microbial fermentation. Among the selected brands that presented exclusive collections made with Brewed Protein™ fibre are young n sang - a South Korean menswear line known for its exceptional hand-weaving techniques - and Cavia an Italian brand based in Milan and famous for its re-use and upcycling of garments. For the first time, both brands unveiled their collections to the public in the exhibition at the Fondazione Pitti Discovery, offering a tangible example of how technology can reduce the fashion HIGHLIGHTS PITTI UOMO 89
