ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION If you are looking to put the spark into your future career then studying one of our electrical installation courses could be right for you. If you are logical, creative and a good problem-solver, we offer a range of electrical courses to prepare you as a future electrician. With a newly refurbished industry standard electrical workshop, now is the time to study with us.

LEVEL 1 DIPLOMA IN BUILDING SERVICES AND ENGINEERING 1 YEAR

WHAT WILL I LEARN? This course will provide you with introductory skills in plumbing, electrical installation and engineering. You will learn about health and safety, electrical circuit installations, hot, cold and drainage plumbing systems. You will also cover basic engineering skills and an overview of renewable technologies, which will include wind turbines, solar thermal and also solar photovoltaic systems.

WHAT GRADES DO I NEED? Four GCSEs grade 3 including English and maths or an entry level qualification in a related course.

WHAT’S NEXT? After you have completed this course you could progress on to one of our level 2 courses in electrical installation, engineering or plumbing.

LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION 1 YEAR

WHAT WILL I LEARN? You will study a combination of practical skills and theory-based knowledge and undertake a wide range of standard electrical installation work. As well as learning the theory behind electricity and reasons for selecting the right equipment, you will also learn about electrical installation technology, wiring systems and enclosures. You will also gain an overview of the installation and commissioning of wind turbines and solar photovoltaic systems.

WHAT GRADES DO I NEED? Four GCSEs grade 4 or above in English, maths and science or a level 1 qualification in a related course.

WHAT’S NEXT? On completion of this course you can progress on to our Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation or continue your learning by securing an apprenticeship.

If you don’t have English and maths at GCSE grade 9- 4, you will contin ue to work towards this as part of your m ain programme of study.
