PLASTERING

LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN PLASTERING

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE IN PLASTERING 1 year

WHAT WILL I LEARN? This course will teach you basic plastering skills such as applying plaster material to walls and ceilings. You will also learn how to prepare background surfaces, knowledge of construction technology and health, safety and welfare within the construction industry.

WHAT GRADES DO I NEED? Three GCSEs grade 2 or above or an entry level qualification in a related course.

WHAT’S NEXT? On completion of this course you can progress on to our Level 2 Diploma in Plastering or look to secure an apprenticeship.

1 year

Our level 2 course is full of practical sessions which are supported by theory units. You will learn how to fix dry lining and plasterboard products to internal surfaces, forming sand and cement screeds, positioning and securing fibrous plaster and understanding construction technology.

WHAT GRADES DO I NEED? Four GCSEs grade 3 or above or a level 1 qualification in a related course.

WHAT’S NEXT? Once you have completed this course you could progress on to our Level 3 Diploma in Plastering or continue your learning by securing an apprenticeship.

LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN PLASTERING 1 year

WHAT WILL I LEARN? Building on skills developed during our level 2 course you will learn how to form screed and granolithic finishes, apply plaster materials to external surfaces, apply plaster materials to complex internal surfaces and how to produce plaster components.

WHAT GRADES DO I NEED? Four GCSEs grade 4 or above including English and maths and a level 2 qualification in a related course.

WHAT’S NEXT? On completion of this course you could go on to start work as a qualified plasterer.

If you don’t have English and maths at GCSE grade 9- 4, you will contin ue to work towards this as part of your m ain programme of study.
