Once chosen, our head boy and girl along with their deputies, lead our school council. They meet as a group every three weeks and discuss aspects of school life. This may be about areas they would like to change or improve or planning ideas for a fundraising event. This half-term, they are focusing on developing playtime games and activities – a very important part of the school day! We encourage all of our pupils to have a voice and to contribute towards decision making. As a school family we are all committed to school improvement.
Through the values of kindness, compassion and service, we teach our pupils to care for and look after others; especially those less fortunate than ourselves. At our harvest festival last month, our families donated non-perishable items to the Preesall and Knott-End Help Group so that we can help to support people in our local community. In the coming months, we will be fundraising for Children in Need and taking part in the toy service at St Oswald’s Church. As well as donating, we help our pupils to understand why this is important and also to be thankful for what we have.
