F Solides artisans du cinéma d’exploitation, June et Ron Ormond trouvent soudainement la foi en survivant au crash de leur avion. Ils s’associent alors au pasteur baptiste Estus Pirkle pour mettre en images les prêches radicaux de ce dernier afin d’en décupler l’impact. Premier film du trio, If Footmen Tire You, What Will Horses Do? vient rappeler, à grands coups de scènes chocs que n’aurait pas renié Herschell Gordon Lewis, que seul la pratique fervente du Christianisme pourra sauver la population contre les dangers d’une inéluctable et imminente invasion communiste. E Actress June and director Ron Ormond, active figures in the world of exploitation films, were struck by faith after surviving a plane crash. They then teamed up with Baptist minister Estus Pirkle to put his radical preaching onto film and increase its impact. Together, they produced and directed three religious propaganda films. First title of the trilogy, If Footmen Tire You, What Will Horses Do? reminds us, with shocking scenes that would make Herschell Gordon Lewis proud, that only the fervent practice of the Christian faith can save the population from the dangers of a Communist invasion. The craziest Christiansploitation film ever!
The Burning Hell est l’illustration de ce F que la Bible dit de l’Enfer, selon l’interprétation très personnelle du redoutable révérend Estus Pirkle. À travers l’horrible destin post-mortem de Ken, motard peu croyant, qui finit décapité dans un accident, Pirkle déroule son implacable réquisitoire pour bien s’assurer que Tim, l’ami du défunt, ne fasse pas la même erreur que son camarade. Avec un budget ridicule, son propre fils dans le rôle de Tim, et des figurant·e·s directement issus de la communauté religieuse, Ron Ormond emballe une nouvelle bande outrageusement choquante qui a traumatisé toute une génération.

The Burning Hell brings to film the Bible’s E views on Hell, according to fearsome Reverend Estus Pirkle’s very personal interpretation. Through the horrific post-mortem fate of Ken, a biker of little faith who ends up decapitated in an accident, Pirkle plays out his relentless indictment to ensure that Tim, a friend of the deceased, will not make the same mistake as his comrade. With a ridiculously low budget, his own son cast as Tim, and extras picked directly from the religious community, Ron Ormond wraps up yet another outrageously shocking film that traumatised a whole generation.
