hen your family see you pausing before a big decision and checking with yourself, they learn to not rush in life. They develop self-compassion instead of self-doubt. When you take time to restore your energy and rest, instead of running on empty, you also give others permission to say ‘no, I’m at capacity’, instead of pretending to be okay. There is no question that to be a mother is to be a leader – an anagram of the word ‘dealer’. To me, a dealer is someone who not only distributes good/s, but who ‘deals’ with life’s problems on behalf of themselves and others. Until my mid-30’s, I doubted my ability to become a parent, to the point that I developed an eating disorder and stayed in toxic relationships – two strategies which prevented me from falling pregnant. I had the idea that I could never cope with children because I am noisesensitive and used to need 10hrs of sleep a night. After completing a lot of personal growth courses and moving into my psychic career, I realised that my uncertainty was inherited and did not have to be my truth any longer.
