Hey,Hamptons!
We’re thrilled that Spotlight is back for our second summer in the Hamptons after an incredible first year of the mag! Thank you for all the support. After we left you last Labor Day, we headed to South Florida with an Art Basel Miami issue in November and two Palm Beach issues in December and February. And this spring, we’ve been gearing up for what’s going to be our biggest season yet!
Now, we’re back here to serve up what’s trending all summer long— and oh my, do we have a lot of content in store for you! On a personal note, I got engaged in December, right after we launched our Art Basel issue. The two most exciting things in my life—launching Spotlight and finding the love of my life—both happened at around the same time, which is sort of crazy when I think about it. I’ve always been incredibly motivated, but there’s something about my relationship with my fiancé that gives me even more fuel to pursue all my goals.
I realized that I’m not alone in having this kind of support; there are so many wonderful couples who do the same for each other. That’s how the idea of a Power Couples issue— a celebration of the duos who are making waves together Out East— came to be. Who could be better to cover this issue for us than Hamptons homeowners and entrepreneurs Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis? As I write this, Hannah is due to give birth any day to her second child—a daughter—and has been a major inspiration for sharing her pregnancy journey with her 1 million followers. Read my exclusive interview with the couple on page 28. Also in this issue—meet our new crew of Spotters! Finance guru Haley Sacks (aka Mrs. Dow Jones) is giving Hamptonites her best tips for keeping your finances in check; Hilary Hoffman, the belle behind SOTO Method, the new workout everyone’s talking about, is our latest fitness voice; and don’t forget to read
Jayma Cardoso of The

And check out our returning faves: dating expert and podcaster Lindsey Metselaar of WeMetAtAcme, who’s sharing how to form your perfect power couple if you’re on the market; and Stephanie Nass, entertaining expert via her Chefanie brand, on the hottest hosting trend of the moment.
Major thanks to all our advertisers, who make it possible to bring Spotlight to our readers!
We have so much fun planned this summer, so make sure to follow along on our socials and tag us with a pic of you reading a copy of the new issue. See you around town!

MEET THE WILSON TEAM AT SAUNDERS & ASSOCIATES
How did you two team up?
Jennifer Wilson: I started selling Hamptons real estate in 2007 and over the years built a strong referral-based business. In 2019, Treacy came on board and we created the Wilson Team. Thankfully, that was the year before COVID because I couldn’t have been as successful as we were over the past three years without the team in place. How do you describe each of your styles as agents?
Wilson: We work hard to educate our clients and give them the resources to make the best decisions. We have a no-pressure approach and a lot of patience. We’ll show our clients 100 houses if that’s what it takes for them to find the right one. Our reputation means a lot to us, and we’re known to be diligent and honest.
Treacy, tell us about your fashion background!
Treacy Cotter: I went to FIT and majored in buying and merchandising. I worked on Madison Avenue, running a large flagship store, and enjoyed the grind. My experience there has translated nicely into the real estate world. It’s imperative that homes are staged correctly in order to earn top dollar. My merchandising background has helped us get these homes prepared to sell quickly. Jen was the catalyst for me to start my real estate career, and the timing was more than right.
What’s a fun fact about both of you?
Cotter: We met in second grade and have been friends since. We raised our children together, and they’re all close friends.
Your No. 1 tip for Hamptonites interested in finding their dream home?
Wilson: Work with an experienced broker who knows the market and the inventory. Work with someone who is working for you and your best interest.

BAY STREET THEATER KICKS OFF NEW SEASON

What’s the buyer’s market like as we enter summer?
MARRAM MONTAUK LAUNCHES $18K SUMMER MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM
Get your tickets for Bay Street Theater’s first play of the season, Double Helix, written and composed entirely by the brilliant young playwright Madeline Myers. The work tells the true story of famed scientist Rosalind Franklin (played by Samantha Massell), who is credited with discovering the shape of DNA back in 1953. It’s now the 70th anniversary of her discovery, and the play does the critical job of highlighting her contributions to the field. For tickets, go to baystreet.org.
Marram, a luxury beachfront hotel in Montauk just launched its inaugural membership program, designed to encourage guests to consider the property their part-time summer Hamptons house. Memberships start at $18,000 for nine nights in Montauk during peak season. Perks include a welcome gift from Le Labo fragrances, a $600 food and beverage credit per stay at in-house Chef Fernando Trocca’s Argentinian café, and more. For additional information, visit marrammontauk.com.
METALLIC CHIC WITH DAUPLAISE
Inventory is low, and there’s a strong buyer pool waiting on the sidelines. Well-priced homes in good condition are seeing the most immediate attention, and those properties are selling in fewer days on the market. It’s an efficient buyer-educated market. With home pricing dropping for the first time since 2019, why is now a good time to buy? We don’t see homes prices dropping across the board. Outlier subprime locations with older homes that need extensive renovations, or those homes viewed as “teardowns” will sometimes sit until the sellers adjust.
Tips for figuring out which town to purchase in?
Spend time in the logical two or three that most suit your lifestyle. Ask yourself these questions: Where are our friends? How much time will we spend on the East End in season and out of season? Our favorite restaurants? Ocean or Bay Beach? Access to boating? Golf club? Tennis club? Social club?
Top three favorite Hamptons restaurants?
I would say The American Hotel, Sant Ambroeus, and Bridgehampton Inn. Describe your ideal Memorial Day Weekend!

GROWING YOUR FAMILY NEST EGG
Not sure how to manage your generational wealth?
Introducing our new “zillennial” finance expert—Haley Sacks, aka Mrs. Dow Jones—to keep you in check!
BY HALEY SACKS
There’s something fun about a rich baby. You know the type— they’re not wearing Baby Gap, they’re wearing Baby Fendi. Their first word is Bugatti. Their best friend is their nanny. But how did they get so rich? Well, because child labor laws are so restrictive, I’m guessing it’s not from building and then exiting a start-up. No, sweetie. These babies are rich because their parents were smart with money. They knew how to grow generational wealth.
What? Like, it’s hard? It’s not, and I can show you how! I’m Mrs. Dow Jones, the “zillennial” finance expert, and I’m going to teach you three secrets to growing generational wealth that only rich people know.
1TAKE ADVANTAGE OF COMPOUND INTEREST
Here’s the thing about kids. They’re young! That means they have a lot of time for their money to compound, which is “finance speak” for grow exponentially; think of how a snowball rolling down a hill gets bigger and bigger. That’s what happens to your money when it compounds. Even if you invest a small amount for them monthly, it will yield shockingly huge results over time.
For example, take my goddaughter Zia. When she was born and got her Social Security number, I pushed her parents to open a custodial brokerage account for her and had them
use my secret recipe for making your kid rich. Here’s how it works: You put in $1,000 when the child is born, and then you set up automated deposits for $100 per month and contribute $500 per year on his birthday. If you do this for 18 years and invest that money in a low-cost index fund that tracks the S&P 500—which historically has returned 10 percent annually— it compounds annually, even if you don’t put a dollar more in once the child turns 18, by the time he is 65 it will have grown to $7.6 million. And you will only have contributed $31,600 of principal. 2
GET YOUR KID A BLACK CARD
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Kids should have a black card! You’re so focused on teaching them to read and correcting their manners that you forget to add them as authorized users to your credit card. Yes, even if they just use it to teeth on, they’re still building credit. Here’s how this hack goes: Most credit-card companies don’t have an age requirement, so you can add your kids as authorized users on your account. They’ll send you a card with your child’s name on it (just put some recurring subscriptions on that card and set it to autopay so that it stays active) and boom, she is building credit. Continue doing this until the child has her own
card. However, this hack works only if you have good credit. By doing this you’re linking scores, so your score has to be good in order for the child to benefit. Oh, and make sure to educate your kid on how to maintain this amazing credit score.
3 SCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN IN FINANCE
Guess what? Being rich isn’t about how much you make, but it’s about how much you keep and are therefore able to invest. You need to lead by example! Show your children how you live under your means and use whatever is left
over to grow wealth. Engage them in the processes we’ve discussed about setting them up financially. Truly, if you want to raise a rich kid but aren’t building wealth yourself, it’s going to be tough. Kids pick up on everything. So if you want them to be good with money, you have to be good with money, too. Not only will they mimic your behaviors, but they’ll also look to you to guide them. Thankfully, I exist and can show you the ropes. Follow me on Instagram @mrsdowjones.
Then you can win every financial parenting award that exists! T

YOUR GUIDE TO A MONTAUK SUMMER
Our new Spotter and founder of the iconic Surf Lodge Jayma Cardoso reflects on 15 years of running her beloved destination and her tips for nailing this season at the “end of the world.”
Early in my career, I knew I would love to open a hotel one day, and as I’m from Brazil, it would have to involve a beach, of course. Fast-forward to this summer, and we’re celebrating The Surf Lodge’s 15th anniversary. The entire journey has been nothing short of a fantastic whirlwind ride.
Originally a motel and bar with live music that catered to the town’s local fishermen, the property felt magical to me from the moment I first stepped foot on it. I’m proud of the cultural destination we’ve created, with The Surf Lodge becoming a place to experience art, wellness, fashion, and music, while still maintaining and staying true to its original charm.
Building Surf Lodge has been the experience of a lifetime, filled with some truly unforgettable moments. John Legend, Wyclef Jean, Willie Nelson, and Lauryn Hill have all graced our stage; we’ve also partnered with some of my favorite chefs, including Jean-Georges, Daniela SotoInnes, and Eric Ripert.
This season, I’m looking forward to our Concert Series and welcoming back many of our favorite acts, such as Bob Moses, Donavon Frankenreiter, Lauv, and new ones like Fisher. We’re also returning with The Surf Lodge’s Wellness Series and collaborating with Vita Coco to bring a who’s who of

the fitness world to the property in July, with my longtime friend Isaac Boots kicking things off with his TORCH’D workout.
Our in-room Beauty Mini Bar has become a favorite with hotel guests, and each summer I look forward to curating it with amazing products—and it’s complimentary with each weekend stay! Brands this year include Milk Makeup, Biossance, Fekkai, Dr.Jart+, ILIA, Boscia, and Vegamour.
On the food front, we’re now open for brunch daily and have partnered with the amazing team at Two Hands on a delicious menu featuring all its beloved classics. It’s one of my go-to places to have breakfast in the city, and now we get to have them in Montauk!
Summer after summer, I’m so fortunate to see the same faces that have been frequenting the property since the beginning, and I’m so thankful for this community. I look forward to the next 15 years and celebrating with everyone this season! T
b Catch as many sunsets as you can. I might be a bit partial, but I think The Surf Lodge is the best place to watch the sunset right over Fort Pond. Montauket and Crow’s Nest also offer amazing views.
b Enjoy all things local. Take advantage of the incredible produce that comes from nearby farms and the fresh seafood that arrives straight off the boats in Montauk. Gosman’s Fish Market is my favorite; it has the best selection of seafood.
b Explore! To me, Montauk is one of the most magical places in the world, with countless hidden little gems. Climb the buffs along the water’s edge at Shadmoor State Park, stroll the cliff walk at the lighthouse, go trail riding on the beach with Deep Hollow Ranch, and experience all the beauty Montauk has to offer.
b Stay till “the end.” Life is short, and summer is even shorter. Take that long weekend, soak in every minute, and stay in Montauk for as long as you can.

ENTERTAINING BOARDS ARE ALL THE RAGE!
Boards are Instagram-worthy and perfectly delicious. They’re also the hottest trend of the season! Here’s everything you need to know about starting off your summer parties with a platter that’s sure to please.
BY STEPHANIE NASS
Nothing says “welcome” like a platter of little bites! If you’re hosting summer guests for any kind of rendezvous, have a board of easy-to-eat finger food ready, and make it gorgeous. While you can purchase cheese boards from Cavaniola’s (in Sag Harbor) and Citarella (in Southampton, Bridgehampton and East Hampton), these grazing boards are blank canvases of creativity. Putting together a food board is a lovely opportunity to put some of your heart into your gathering. You can make boards dedicated to fruits, vegetables, cheese, seafood, sweets, or a combination of these items. Heading into the steamy season, a fruit or vegetable board doesn’t require firing up the oven—and it’s also nutritious. Seafood towers are a little fancier. The ubiquitous butter boards are a new sensation on social media, and candy boards can be fun for kids. But a cheese board is an eternal classic.
HERE ARE SOME TIPS FOR PUTTING TOGETHER BOARDS AT HOME:
b Taste the Rainbow Make your board pop with tons of varied colors or stick to one consistent color palette.
b Slice Neatly When preparing produce or cheese, cut each item uniformly in size and shape. This will contribute to the presentation but also make it easier for guests to consume.
For added intrigue, you can also cut vegetables into flower shapes; it’s relatively easy to carve “petals” into radishes and strawberries.
b Fill It Up Leave minimal empty space on the serving vessel, so it looks full and generous.
b Jazz It Up Include unexpected elements on your cheese board, like pieces of halvah or our new trompe l’oeil chocolate “martini olive” almonds. Decorate with fresh flowers in vases or edible flowers on top.
b Be Inclusive Make sure there’s something for every dietary restriction with glutenfree, vegan, nut-free and kosher options.
b Tableware Have cocktail napkins and small plates beside the food, so guests can enjoy comfortably. T

HER FITNESS STORY
Hilary Hoffman, our new fitness Spotter, is the founder of SOTO Method, which has become the talk of the town. People are crediting the workout platform for their newly found abs and tone. Here, she shares how she created her program and why even five minutes of exercise can make a difference.
BY HILARY HOFFMAN
As the founder of the fitness platform SOTO Method, I must admit my background is quite unconventional. Rather than bringing a decade of personal-training experience to the table, my expertise lies in situational awareness, a skill that has proved invaluable in shaping SOTO Method’s unique approach.
I understand the struggle of sitting at a desk for 10 hours a day, being so swamped that the only meal option is twominute tortellini, and feeling too drained to exercise during a brief window of free time. While working in finance for more than 10 years at esteemed firms like Goldman Sachs and Oaktree Capital Management, I chased career excellence and nurtured relationships with my boyfriend (now husband) and close friends.
My ideal workout needed to reflect my reality—a sedentary lifestyle, a carb-heavy diet, and priorities that placed my career and personal life first. I yearned for a highly efficient, effective fitness program tailored to those who were time-poor but committed to self-improvement. Unable to find it elsewhere, I took matters into my own hands and created the program I had been searching for.
I devised a method that delivered the efficiency and results I craved. Blending HIIT cardio and Pilates, SOTO was born. What began as a side hustle—filming classes in my garage and teaching weekend sessions under an avocado tree—quickly gained traction and became my full-time job after just eight months. Today, SOTO has blossomed
SOTO stands for 60 on/10 on. Each muscle group is fired up for a 60-second isometric hold, then that burn is sustained through a series of 10 dynamic movements.
into an app and offers in-person classes in New York City, the Hamptons, and Miami. SOTO tackles the debate between having no time versus enough time for working out. It’s true that some days our schedules are simply too packed. But it’s the belief that whatever time we have isn’t enough to see results that poses a greater challenge.
SOTO debunks this notion
and demonstrates that even five minutes can make a difference. Just last weekend, I experienced this firsthand. With only 30 minutes to spare for exercise, I went to the gym with low energy, telling myself I’d stop if I felt worse after a short cardio session. Instead, those first few minutes transformed into a 26-minute SOTO Sculpt.
Starting can be the hardest part, but SOTO is the spark plug I need to jump-start my motivation and make working out feel achievable, even with limited time. SOTO is designed to be flexible and adaptable to each individual’s lifestyle, ensuring that everyone can reap the benefits of movement, no matter how pressed for time they may be.
Whether we meet in the Hamptons this summer, or you join an NYC class with our newest trainer, Gerard Thelemaque, I’m confident that if SOTO resonates with you as it does with us, you’ve found your perfect workout. So take that first step, trust the process, and embrace the transformative power of SOTO Method. T

HOW TO ATTRACT YOUR EQUAL AND FORM A POWER COUPLE
Have you been in a dating rut? There’s no better place than the Hamptons to inspire you to get back into the game. Our resident dating expert is here to remind you of your self-worth and why you should never settle for anything less than you deserve.
BY LINDSEY METSELAAR
Hi, Spotlight fam!
I can’t believe summer is almost here! Well, more like thank God summer is almost here. I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t bear that seasonal depression for another minute. I’m so excited that the theme of this issue of Spotlight is power couples, because there’s nothing I love more than a couple in which both people are killing it. Some of my favorite power couples are Michelle and Barack Obama, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. But what makes a power couple?
In my opinion, it’s two individuals who would soar with or without the other person. Their partner doesn’t complete them, but rather adds to their greatness.
2. Follow Your Passion
HERE
ARE FIVE WAYS YOU CAN ATTRACT YOUR POWER COUPLE MATCH:
1. Make a List of What You
Want in a Partner, and Then Become That List
There’s nothing worse than someone who brings nothing to the table and expects someone to bring everything. If you want someone kind, be kind. If you want someone funny, be funny. The best thing you can do if you really want to attract something is project that same energy.
What do all or most power couples have in common? They have something they’re passionate about and love to do outside of their partner. In order to shine in your partnership, you must be able to shine on your own. Build your own life that you truly love before searching for someone to join you.
3. Always Surround Yourself With Equals
When you hang out with people who drain your battery, they do exactly that. When you surround yourself with people
who are doing awesome things, who are smarter than you, who inspire you, you get lifted. Your battery is full again. Make sure you focus on the people who energize you, not the ones who deplete you.
4.
Don’t Settle
We all, especially women, have been pressured at one point or another to get married or “settle down.” Society leads us to believe that if we haven’t, we ought to. It can be easy to give in to the intrusive thoughts that you should accept whoever is ready to marry you, as opposed to making sure this person is worthy. Never settle.
5. Listen to Advice Only From People in a Power Couple
There’s tons of advice out there, but the best I’ve received is to take advice only from someone who has what you want. Too often we’re open to hearing other people’s opinions, which are frankly irrelevant. If you want to know how to achieve something, ask someone who has already achieved it.
As always, it’s an honor to write about dating for Spotlight, and especially about couples. For more tips, you can follow @wemetatacme on Instagram or listen to “We Met at Acme” wherever you get podcasts. I hope to catch you in your power couple around town this summer! T

TARS ON THEIR OWN AND EXTRAORDINARY TOGETHER, HANNAH BRONFMAN—ACTIVIST, ANGEL INVESTOR, AUTHOR, AND WELLNESS EXPERT—AND
BRENDAN FALLIS—CREATOR, INVESTOR, DJ, AND FALLIS STUDIOS FOUNDER—ARE THE PERFECT PAIR. THE DUO, WHO’S BEEN SUMMERING OUT EAST FOR YEARS, IS WELCOMING A SECOND CHILD INTO THEIR WORLD. HERE, THEY SHARE WITH SPOTLIGHT THEIR JOURNEY TO BUILDING THEIR FAMILY AND WHAT KEEPS THEM MOTIVATED IN THEIR CAREERS.
Hannah, we’re so excited to photograph you pregnant with baby #2! How thrilled are you bringing a second little one into the world?
Hannah Bronfman: Beyond excited! It’s a bit surreal to be honest. I think I’m really looking forward to watching Preston become a big brother. I’m also so excited to bring a baby into the summer season! Preston was born in November 2020, so it will be a very different experience this time around! How’s Preston feeling about having a little sister?
Brendan Fallis: He’s been so loving about it so far. Saying her name all the time while pointing at Hannah’s belly. But then, he also thinks there’s a Paw Patrol baby in there, so….
Bronfman: It’s hard to say, he’s only 2! He seems to be engaged when we talk about the baby and generally he loves his friends’ little siblings, so I think he’s going to be a trooper. Hannah, you’ve been open with your followers about your pregnancy journey. What’s it been like to see how much your followers look up to you as a source of inspiration during this process? Bronfman: Sharing and being vulnerable about my experience is definitely something I didn’t
anticipate, but I share so much with my community, and this felt like a chapter that needed a real discussion and to be highlighted. I know so many women are dealing with fertility issues and, if my story can help just one person, I think it’s worth sharing. It’s also time to break the stigma, expand the conversation, offer more affordable options, and have national paid leave. Brendan, what have you learned about yourself since becoming a dad?
Fallis: First of all, all the cliché sentences you hear from everyone before you have your first baby are true! I’ve also realized that having a child is the first truly selfish act you perform. For the first time ever, you realize that everything you’ve learned along the way you must pass along to your child so they can learn, grow, and succeed in life. It’s a beautiful thing. You and Hannah first met in 2011. Tell us how it happened! Fallis: We met in a nightclub in Miami during Art Basel. We were introduced at some point during the night and became so involved in our conversation that time flew by and it was suddenly 4 a.m. and we were asked to please leave. The club was completely empty and it was just the two of us. We left together
and, as I was putting Hannah in a cab, we both realized we had lost our phones at some point during the evening. Finding each other over the next few nights seemed to be kismet without our phones…and the rest is history. One word: Wow!
Bronfman: It’s exactly as Brendan said. Because it was Art Basel when we ran into each other, the next night we ended up talking for hours again and watching the sunrise together. I actually extended my trip so I could hang out with Brendan longer. When we both got back to New York, I decided not to get a new cell phone for the thrill of Brendan having to go out of his way to make plans with me. It was a pretty unique circumstance.
Brendan, was there a specific moment when you realized Hannah was the one?
Fallis: The morning after we met, again without cell phones, I called my mom from the hotel phone and told her I had met someone different, someone who stopped me in my tracks. When you know, you know! You’re such an ambitious couple. How do you motivate each other?
Bronfman: Brendan is a motivator by nature. After being on the Canadian Ski Team, he
Spotlight \ Memorial Day 2023 \ 29
coached for five years and the boys he coached still call him their life coach. I happen to also be a motivator by nature, and together Brendan and I make a strong team. Communication is the key for us on how we make it all work. Neither of us is a mind reader, so it’s important to let each other know how we can better support each other; additionally, we both work a lot and have committed to being as present as possible but also not guilting each other or ourselves if we miss bedtime. What is the No. 1 thing that you each do that makes the other laugh or smile?
Fallis: Food makes us smile. We love to cook and have a night in together. And luckily Hannah appreciates my now appropriate “dad humor.”
Many single millennials feel discouraged about finding love today. What are your top dating tips for singles?
Fallis: In a world of dating apps, it’s tough to say exactly, but that being said, old rules still apply. So my first rule would be a piece of advice that Hannah’s dad gave us during his toast at our wedding: A relationship is built on trust, and no relationship succeeds without it. Remember, it takes a lifetime to earn trust and only seconds to lose it. Bronfman: I feel like we’re all rushing to find our partner because we feel this looming timeline, but screw a timeline! Freeze your eggs, ladies, and kiss a lot of frogs, and don’t settle till you find the person who is equal parts your hype person, lover, and best friend. Trust your gut, if you meet the person in the grocery store or on an app, just go with it and trust the universe.
Every bad relationship teaches you about yourself and leads you on your path.
Hannah, let’s talk about HBFIT. Your brand has evolved over the years, and you recently announced some news about it.
Bronfman: HBFIT started out as a hashtag I was using on social media to showcase my health-forward lifestyle. It has taken many forms over the years, including a blog and most recently a content and commerce site. However, after eight years, I’m closing the door on HBFIT as it’s a business model that’s not sustainable and I personally feel that I’ve outgrown it. I’m excited for a fresh chapter and looking forward to many new projects. There was a point in both your careers where it seemed like DJing was your primary focus. What inspired you both to focus on other ventures?
Fallis: Just evolution in general. We’ve always loved to continue
to grow and explore new avenues of work and life. It’s important for our creative juices to push forward.
Bronfman: Honestly, it’s a draining lifestyle. I loved it and it brought me all over the world, but other parts of my career are equally if not more fulfilling— and life is too short to not pursue what makes you happy. You’re homeowners Out East. Why is the Hamptons important to you both?
Fallis: It’s not only an escape from the busyness of the city, a reset of sorts, but it’s a place where we can unplug and spend time together as a family.
Bronfman: We feel a sense of calm here, and Brendan and I love being here in the off-season. But growing up, I had some of my best summers at camp, playing on the beach, and hanging with friends. I feel fortunate to be able to give our kids a place that is outside the city, rooted in nature, and a chance to learn different skills than “city skills.”
What are some of your favorite workout spots?
Bronfman: I’m excited to try the new Tracy Anderson in Sag Harbor, and I used to go to SoulCycle in East Hampton. We renovated our house and made a small gym there, and I use a machine called Tonal that I’m obsessed with. This summer, my exercise will consist of pool time and walks to the bay with the stroller.
Many millennials want to purchase their first Hamptons home. Brendan, how can they make that happen?
Fallis: Many levels to that question, always starting with budget, which allows you to pin down what areas are in your range. But as it’s a secondary home for most, consider renting out your property for a summer month. The rental prices are huge and easily cover your carry cost for the year. We’ve done that since day one with our house Out East, and it also allows you to have funds to upgrade the property a bit each year. What inspired you to launch Fallis Studios?
Fallis: I’ve always loved home and fashion, so creating a lifestyle line of my nonnegotiable items has been super enjoyable and inspiring. I also realized that I’ve built a community and wanted to find a way I could create a product line that would be desirable for that community. Besides Hamptons time, what else is on tap this summer?
Bronfman: We’ll go to Muskoka in Canada for 10 days in August to be with Brendan’s family. We’re also heading to Greece with my family. This is our seventh year, and we go somewhere different every year. What’s something we’d be surprised to learn about each of you?
Bronfman: Brendan, who now runs a talent management company, started his managing career in the club managing the Benson & Hedges cigarette girls.
Fallis: If you shaved Hannah’s head, you’d discover that half of it is tattooed. College is a great time! [Laughs] T

POWER COUPLES
OF THE HAMPTONS
The East End is where heavy hitters from all fields come to work and play. And sometimes they come together! These dynamic duos from the worlds of real estate, fashion, media, and art have captured our attention with their style, talent, and influence. Spotlight presents our picks for those special couples that bring a certain sparkle to town
that my son really preferred football to tennis, which I knew! I didn’t see Kyle again for months but ended up taking tennis lessons from him myself later—and the rest is history. You both are killing it right now between your bookstore launch, Zibby, and Kyle’s film, Wildflower, being acquired by Momentum Pictures [available on Hulu this month]. What’s the key to balancing out each other with so much happening?
Kyle and Zibby Owens
Founder and CEO, Morning Moon Productions / Author and Podcast Host
Some say the Hamptons is a great place to meet your partner!
Zibby Owens: We met on a tennis court in the Hamptons,
John Wattiker and Malcolm Carfrae
Group Executive Director, Luxury, Hearst / Principal and Founder, Carfrae Consulting
Where did you two meet?
Malcolm Carfrae: We met at a hotel bar in New York City in 2010. The barman inadvertently swapped our checks. John asked for my business card and e-mailed me the next day to ask for a date. We laugh that it’s like the first scene of a Nancy Meyers movie.
Malcolm, you’re originally from Australia. What made you and John decide to purchase a home Out East?
and that’s really where we ended up falling in love. We even got married in the Hamptons beside a tennis court with the party on the court itself!
How’d the meet-cute happen?
Owens: I first met Kyle when he was filling in for a colleague’s tennis lesson and taught my son. Well, he started teaching my son a lesson until a few minutes later when he called me onto the court and let me know
Owens: We’re both interested in each other’s work! He gives feedback on our book covers for Zibby Books. I read script submissions for Morning Moon Productions and celebrated the release of Wildflower like it was my own! We’re just really collaborative.
What would you say is your favorite love story?
Owens: The one in You’ve Got Mail
Go-to couples activity?
Owens: We love going on TV together to recommend books, even if Kyle hasn’t read them.
Carfrae: I have spent weekends Out East every summer weekend since I arrived in the U.S. in 2003. It was my happy place, and it became our happy place when we started dating. We also held our wedding weekend there in 2014. Four years ago, we bought our dream house in Amagansett. Now it feels like our home. You both work in media. Have you ever thought about working together?
Carfrae: We both love our work and support each other’s careers, but doing different things is healthy and keeps it balanced. We’re grateful to be able to bounce things off each other. But who knows, maybe at some point down the road those paths will converge even more than they already do naturally. Anything is possible!

How and where did you meet?
Crystal Willis: We met at a bar 23 years ago while I was attending college upstate, studying PR and playing volleyball. Jarret was working in NYC at the time and was there visiting his parents. What’s your favorite part of running Blue One together?
Crystal: Being together is the best part. We have so many laughs! Being able to be creative together and collaborating on ideas and seeking out new designers has been fun. We’re a force to be reckoned with.
What’s new at the store?
Crystal: We rearranged the store to have a better flow and shopping experience. We also have some fun events lined up, including a pop-up with a finejewelry designer from L.A.
What’s your favorite quality about each other?
Crystal: Jarret has such a big presence in the store. His laugh, humor, and wittiness are unreal. Customers come to him with all sorts of personal problems along with style inquiries. He is Mr. Hamptons!
Jarret Willis: Crystal is an incredibly strong, talented, and compassionate person.
I respect her work ethic and ability to balance being a wife and mother. In short, she makes me a better husband, father, and person. I adore her.
Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall
Joey Wölffer and Max Rohn
Co-owner, Wölffer Estate Vineyard / CEO and GM, Wölffer Estate Vineyard Where did you two meet?
Joey Wölffer: On the platform at Jamaica station taking the train to the Hamptons. I knew it after the train ride when I met him [that he was the one]. I felt crazy butterflies, but I could also tell he was everything I was looking for without even knowing it. Wedding date?
Joey: June 18, 2011.
Favorite quality about each other?
Joey on Max: I love how Max is the calm to my fire. I love how he’s constantly evolving into the amazing human he is as a professional, as a dad, and in his hobby [photography].
Max on Joey: Life is just better with her in the room. I have never not looked forward to seeing her walk in! Describe working together.
Joey: We balance each other out and try our best not to step on each other’s toes!
Most underrated place to meet someone Out East?
Joey: Public transportation!

You met as students at Vanderbilt University. Did you think you’d end up with your college sweetheart?
Sarah Wetenhall: No, I wouldn’t say that was ever a thought that crossed my mind. It wasn’t necessarily love at first sight when we met during freshman year; in fact, it was closer to a case of opposites attract. After our social circles crossed during sophomore year, we became friends, and ended up dating the summer after junior year. You and Andrew acquired The Colony Hotel in 2016. Did you have any reservations about working together?
Sarah: Of course we did! However, we went into this business venture with our eyes open. Thankfully, we’ve known each other so long that we understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Andrew, favorite qualities about Sarah?
Andrew Wetenhall: When I think of Sarah, I think of her charm, kindness, tenacity, astuteness, and intuition. Most memorable summer memory together?
Andrew: Enjoying bonfires at Georgica Beach with our family and close friends, making s’mores until it gets dark.

Eric Von Stroh and Sophie Elgort
Partner, Long Point Capital / Photographer
You’ve been married since 2014! Why did you get married in the Hamptons?
Eric Von Stroh: Sophie’s parents got married at the same house back in the 1980s, so it was always where she pictured getting married. Arthur [Elgort, Sophie’s father] likes to remind us that they had 25 people, whereas we had almost 200!
How did you meet? First date?
Sophie Elgort: We were set up by Eric’s second cousin Marion, a close friend of mine from college. We were all living in New York, and she happened to have brunch with me and dinner with Eric on the same day. She realized then that we had a lot in common and introduced us on an e-mail. We had our first date at Casa Mono in January 2012.
Favorite wedding memory?
Von Stroh: Sophie’s mom, Grethe, surprised us by singing with the band to the tune of Fiddler on the Roof’s “Sunrise, Sunset,” but instead she made the words, “Elgort, Von Stroh.” She put cards under all the plates so that people could join in and sing the words to the chorus. She had taken voice lessons practicing in secret for months before!
Fun fact about you as a couple?
Elgort: We’re both ski racers!
Kim Ross and Danny Sillman
Founder and CEO, ORA / CEO, Relevent Sports
Blair and Margit Brandt
CEO, Brandt Group / Senior Luxury Real Estate Advisor, Premier Estate Properties
When, how, and where did you two meet?
Margit Brandt: In a room in Midtown Manhattan, in February 2014, when Blair was interviewing me to work at a company he owned and operated. I declined the job opportunity, at the time, but later agreed to go on a date with Blair. You’re spending time Out East this summer. What are you looking forward to?
Margit: We’re just here to have a good time and see friends! It’s a great place for us to spend quality family time, decompress, and relax away from our home market of Palm Beach, where things can often be pretty nonstop for us from September through May. What’s the best and most challenging part about working together?
Blair Brandt: The best part is that we have each other’s back in the special way that only family might have. The most challenging part is that we often are in tune with what each other has been up to throughout the day, so it’s sometimes hard to create that daily separation that benefits many couples who go to different places of work. But at the end of the day, it’s a family business and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Kim, what’s your take on dating in NYC versus the Hamptons?
Kim Ross: It can definitely be a challenge. But you just have to trust the process and know that ultimately what is meant for you will come with time.
What part of the Hamptons do you spend the most time in?
Ross: Southampton, but we love
Jeffrey Goldmuntz and Michael Lorber

How did you two meet?
Michael Lorber: We were set up by our friend Billy Gilbane. We started chatting in February 2020, but due to the pandemic, our first date at Le Bilboquet was not until August. You opted for an intimate Miami wedding. What sparked this decision?
Lorber: We had a large engagement celebration in the Hamptons last summer, so we wanted just our immediate family to watch us get married. Both our families spent the weekend in Miami and the 15 of us did a small ceremony at my dad’s house, followed by dinner. The next day, we sent out a Paperless Post to our friends telling them we got married and to save the date for our wedding celebration in New York City on April 29th.
Tell us about your Water Mill digs.
Lorber: After six years in Sag Harbor, we moved to Water Mill. We wanted to be close to the beach and have a large yard for our dog, River. This was the first home we designed together with our designer, Nick Olsen. We are very traditional and love navy blue; the house represents both of us.
going to Sag Harbor, too! The town has the best ice cream place. We love bringing our daughter. Your No. 1 tip for dealing with stressful moments in relationships?
Ross: People say don’t go to bed angry. I say go to bed angry and revisit in the morning. Usually, a good night’s sleep helps things.

Sydney Sadick Is Getting Married
Meet her fiancé, Nick Adams, co-founder and managing partner at Differential Ventures
When you first matched with Sydney on Bumble, did you know who she was from Instagram or TV? No, but I can be an alien when it comes to these things. I constantly ask her “which one is that?” when she’s watching the Kardashians. On the flip side, she thought my profile was fake! When did you realize Sydney was the one? Right away I knew she was different and that there was something unique between us. What are your favorite qualities about her? She’s the best person I’ve ever known. Everything she does is so sincere.
What’s one thing Sydney does that makes you smile? She talks to me like a Muppet frequently. It kind of makes me feel like I’m about 4 years old, but I can’t help but smile when she does it. What’s next?
The wedding! A lot of planning happened right away and then there’s a lull before the big day. We both want good health, a loving family, rewarding careers, and lots of fun along the way! T

A Day in the Life of Avery Singer
If you’re planning a bachelor or bachelorette party, Southamptonite and New Yorker Avery Singer has you covered with her new biz, BachBoss. Whether she’s working on her company or enjoying the East End with family and friends, a typical day in Singer’s Hamptons life is on-point.

Avery, you’re a born-and-bred New Yorker. How long have you been summering Out East? The Hamptons is a special place for me and is my second home. My family purchased our house here when I was just 6 months old. We’ve come out here yearround ever since!
Fans first got to know you on The Real Housewives of New York. What’s that been like? It’s crazy to think that it started when I was 12. There weren’t many reality TV shows, and social media didn’t exist. Growing up, I didn’t think that much of it. You and your mom [Ramona Singer] are close. What do you love to do together out here? Host our friends at our home in Southampton for lunch or dinners. We love entertaining. You just started your own company, BachBoss. What sparked this idea? My friend Jolie [Golub] and I had this idea when we were planning our friend’s bachelorette party.
We loved doing it and realized there was a gap in the market. We ran with the idea and were fully launched two months later! Tell us about planning a bach party in the Hamptons!
We love planning parties in the Hamptons! Some of our go-to spots are Surf Lodge, The Crow’s Nest, and Calissa. What was the best part about being a guest bartender on Watch What Happens Live?
We had so much fun on WWHL hearing all the Vanderpump Rules tea. I’ve known Andy [Cohen] most of my life, so it felt like a full-circle moment to be sharing the launch of our business there. What’s next?
I also just started a podcast with my mom, “Turtle Time,” which is available on all podcast platforms. Tune in! T

It’s officially bridal season! What’s the landscape of the bridal industry like right now? It’s a more maximalist approach for sure—from the dress to guest attire and overall ceremony and celebration.
You’re the creative force behind Morilee, which was originally founded as a family business in 1953. How do you describe the brand?
At Morilee, we’re proud to be leaders and innovators within our industry while keeping true to the core look and feel of the brand. Just as our brides and their needs have evolved, our collections have through the years as well. Each collection is designed with a specific bride in mind and helps us offer the perfect look for every bride.
What’s the backstory to how you landed at Morilee?
I’ve always had a love of lace, and after studying couture design at FIT and being mentored by the one and only Oscar de la Renta, bridal seemed like the perfect fit. After being given a threeweek trial with the company, my career with Morilee began—and 37 years later, the rest is history! How do you describe your design aesthetic?
Classic and romantic first and foremost, but always fresh and forward.
HERE COMES… THE WEDDING DRESS!
Calling all Hamptons brides-to-be! If you’re in search of the perfect wedding dress, meet the designer to know: Madeline Gardner of Morilee. She’s been at the top of the bridal industry for more than 30 years and knows what today’s modern bride wants and needs.
exquisite beadwork, intricate details, and unique elements of texture.
You also design dresses for bridesmaids and mothers of the bride. What makes the bridal party stand out?
Color is key! Working in a shade of what the bride has chosen for her wedding colors is key, but doing so in a tone that speaks to each guest’s personal style and preference adds that touch of personalization.
What’s one of your favorite Hamptons-approved dresses in your latest collection?
What’s trending
The Bianca gown from my experience beyond just the wedding day. Brides want to make the most of their celebration and are now opting for multiple-day affairs, each requiring a unique bridal look.
What’s next for Morilee?
As we enter our 70th-year anniversary, there are so many exciting things in the works. I have plans for a limited-edition capsule as part of my Spring 2024 collection. More to come! T

YOUR HAMPTONS HOROSCOPE FOR JUNE
Summer is set for a sunny return, and our resident astrologer shares her outlook for the month ahead.
BY NANCY KOAN
GEMINI
May 21–June 20
Never a shrinking tulip, your delightful chatter will charm, and those comm skills have never been sharper. This bodes great for dating, so you might take your silver tongue over to Crow’s Nest. This is your summer for impressing the right people.
LIBRA
September 23–October 22
With benefic stars skipping in your chart, your luck in romantic and family relations is excellent. It might even be time to consider having a baby—announce it at Nick & Toni’s, but let someone else pay as your money sector’s not as solid as your love depot.
CANCER
June 21–July 22
Relationships could get extra sparkle this June. What’s really up for you, moon child, is a sense that your worth is finally being recognized. That translates to career improvements, so take a nice run on Main Beach and let the ocean gods sing your praises.
SCORPIO
October 23–November 21
You’ve survived spring’s eclipse season. Now, abundance is key with Venus in Leo on the 5th. Listen for excellent career reports as you’re shining this month. So hit the party circuit. Social life and work will benefit as your radiance is blinding.
LEO
July 23–August 22
No one can be more magnetic than a lion, so simply assume your dreams will manifest. On the 19th, the curtain for growth opens wide, and guess who steps out front and center? You! Just remember, it’s good to listen, too. Lesser mortals will appreciate.
SAGITTARIUS
November 22–December 21
Philosopher Sag can be impatient when things get stale, but not this June. With Mars and Venus in fiery Leo, all obstacles burn off. A new gig is possible, and love is out there for the plucking. Stroll the beach with a potential; you’ll know how far to take it.
VIRGO
August 23–September 22
You love to worry, but why bring those thoughts to the beach? Money issues are looking positive if you open your mind to new ways of doing things. Same goes for pleasure as Pluto’s moves beckon you to expand from the tried and not so true.
CAPRICORN
December 22–January 19
Yes, there’s plenty of career movement, but you might want to give some attention to relationships. Try slathering your “other” with goat’s milk lotion. It’s a month for canoodling. Have a drink at Stephen Talkhouse and hold those soft hooves.
AQUARIUS
January 20–February 18
Activist you wants to help save the whales while the indulgent socializer is charming friends. But you might need to slow up the train and focus on your close relationships. Money might be tight, but you still have plenty of heart and goodwill to share.
PISCES
February 19–March 20
You swam through turbulent eclipses, but now there are some self-esteem issues to face. Lucky you’re by the sea, your natural habitat. Appreciate how many miles you’ve swum and meet up with pals at Moby’s and laugh at the wake that’s behind you.
ARIES
March 21–April 19
This month Mars and Jupiter help you advance at work. Single? Don’t fret, your magnetism is way high, so go out and attract. Watching pennies toward month’s end is fine. You can always share your Tate’s cookies under the June moon.
TAURUS
April 20–May 20
At last the lusty month of May has passed, so let bloomin’ June be your signature theme. You’ll be on neutral turf, but watch out for family interactions. Back down on minor issues; peace on the porch with a Negroni is where you’ll want to be.
