STYLING YOUR GIRLS
I
recently had the pleasure of collaborating on the development of a new clothing label for girls – tweens to be exact – called OMG! girl. The transition from designing for the woman to designing for a tween was not as different as expected. I discovered in the exercise that they are 'little women' – not just girls; that cute, like pink, is out, and they definitely have their own style. And trends are still very important even at that age. So most of the pieces we created still offer the flexibility of styling based on their personal taste – and each if not a trend in itself would facilitate one – like layering. We moved from the fun of creating the collection to the launch of the label to the first photoshoot which was done for this issue of b3. And I think this last activity was most fun. Can you tell?
