GOOD THINGS COME WHEN THEY HAVE TO COME AND EACH EDITION of BUBBLES&CHERRIES fulfills that saying.

It is true that we have been slow to release a new issue since our last installment, in December 2022, but in our defense, I will say that it has been for purely positive things.

In this beautiful process of planning, curating, writing, editing, designing and laying out this edition, several advertisers have joined our project because they know that the BUBBLES&CHERRIES community is the best that exists, and for this reason, together we are committed to carrying out this project. to the highest and at the service of our community, providing the best content with the most fun, addictive, useful and enriching information.

Why doesn’t our summer issue have a model wearing a low suit in some paradisiacal spot? Because this season we are experiencing the coronation of a new monarch. A historical event.

The eternal British crown prince is now KING CHARLES III, a position that he assumed expeditiously at the time of his mother’s death, Elizabeth II, and that he was invested on May 6 at the coronation, this being the event of the year .

On behalf of this publishing house, I express my gratitude for the facilities that the British government gave us in terms of access to photographic material. We present you with a cover editorial chronicling the coronation, a portrait of Charles, the challenges he will face with the crown on his temples, and a journey through tradition, pomp, and millennial ancestry of the British crown.

Delve into the content of this edition which we created with all the passion and commitment! I invite you to deepen our readings on fashion, lifestyle, health, human development and the pleasure of living since that is what life is all about, satisfying our infinite curiosity and enriching our minds, from the the sophistication of luxury trends and products, the coverage of fashion platforms, to the in-depth readings on well-being, healing, the best destinations in the world, to holistic and spiritual topics.

We welcome you to our new issue and believe me, it won’t be that long for the next one.

The Jesus History

JEAN-CHRISTIAN PETITFILS

Petitfils gives a series of arguments with which it can be questioned if we are talking about the “Son of God”, something that will depend on the faith of each person, but he forcefully affirms why it is foolish to deny the existence of a man named Jesus, originally from the Galilean village of Nazareth, who dedicated himself to preaching in the troubled Roman province of Judea in the first century and who was ultimately executed in Jerusalem by the attorney Pilate.

An unmissable text to strengthen arguments when defending or questioning dogmas.

MOVING WITHIN NEW YORK REPRESENTS A GREAT CHALLENGE

THIS MOVE WAS A STRATEGIC ONE as it has brought me closer to all the things that are important to my blog such as: fashion shows, stores, and all the great food places to blog about. Being in the heart of the city has allowed me to stay on top of the latest fashion trends and connect with some of the biggest designers in the industry.

However, the move was not without its challenges. Moving all my belongings from Queens to the city was no easy feat.

The smaller space has also required me to adjust my lifestyle and be more mindful of the things I keep around. It was a challenging process, but I have come to appreciate the simplicity and minimalism of my new space.

Overall, the move to a smaller apartment in the city has been both good and bad. While it has brought me closer to the heart of the fashion industry and given me access to more opportunities, it has also required me to adjust to a new lifestyle and let go of some of the comforts of my previous space.

Despite the challenges, I’m excited to see how this move will impact my blog and take my career to the next level.

A HOBBY IT CAN BE A WAY THAT GET US CLOSER TO HAPPINESS

30 BUBBLES&CHERRIES SUMMER ISSUE 2023
COLUMNS. from australia with love

The magic of the HOBBIES

HOBBIES ARE ACTIVITIES THAT FILL THE EVERYDAY WITH LIFE, WITH A PERSONAL, LASTING AND LIBERATING SATISFACTION. They do not exist only for free time, but they need a specific space, even in tight schedules. Today’s world is full of information to make our lives easier, but it is also inundated with mind-numbing stimuli that can be overwhelming. It is there where the magic of a hobby does its work, reconnecting us with what is internal, with what we know and enjoy doing or what we could potentially enjoy.

A hobby, no matter how fun it is, requires effort, be it physical or mental, and like so many things in life, they require practice and patience to master. It requires concentration, in some cases, creativity, but, above all, perseverance, because, as that Japanese proverb says: “Sooner or later discipline will defeat intelligence.”

I have a theory that people with a hobby (or several) are more interesting versions of themselves, more alive and passionate, and how could they not be? for there will be more topics of conversation at your table, more like-minded individuals on your path, potential friends, and more joy in a world that cries out for it. I’ve ever heard the suggestion that instead of setting ourselves resolutions each New Year, we seek to develop a hobby, learn a new skill, or develop a talent. It seemed like a brilliant idea to me, less unfinished purposes and more exploration of our capabilities. It is said that tastes break genres and hobbies are no exception. On the one hand, they may be in line with someone’s “predictable structure”, but many other times, they are often a surprising and fun contrast that enriches the personality.

skating. They have very little to do with my academic training and my professional activities, but they are the closest reference I have to seeing time run like sand in my hands and seeing hours turn into minutes; travel without taking off your shoes from the ground, or in my case, traveling just by taking off your skates to turn until you’re tired. This does not mean that you necessarily have exceptional talent in these hobbies, wow, which improves as a natural consequence of practice, but it is not more than that: will and practice.

I like to think that we live many lives. I share the philosophy that defends the existence of the soul, but even without the certainty of it, it reassures me to know how much I enjoy this life, exploring and finding my hobbies, sharing them and wrapping myself in their magic, enjoying painting until my brushes wear out and then giving away my paintings to whom I love the most and roll until the wheels of my skates wear out, with the endorphins and bruises that the experience implies.

The longer I live, the more I am convinced that the active and constant search for one’s own happiness is a human responsibility; This is something that is subjective and can be found in different ways, but a hobby is undoubtedly a path to it.

WHAT

WOULD THIS NARRATIVE BE WITHOUT THE EXAMPLES?

A friend, a decorated element of the Mexican armed forces, has enormous taste and talent for “la cantada” and makes many of us happy. The Mexican ambassador to Australia has an incredible gift for gardening and preparing ice cream; the avocado one is his specialty. Another friend, an architect, is very talented at weaving. My sister, a plastic surgeon, when she’s not in the operating room, is taking courses on orchid care; happy among fertilizers and pots. Another great friend, an aeronautical engineer, is a pole dance goddess. My brother, an aviation student, is passionate about nothing more than mixed martial arts and thus, dozens of examples come to my mind among musical instruments, sports, reading, photography and various activities with the common denominator of the happiness that it produces in who allow themselves to live it. In my case, although I have tried various hobbies throughout my life, I have landed in the peace and joy of painting and

What is your hobby? If you don’t have one, you just have to explore, maybe there are many waiting for you.

HERMÈS Selle Rouge

This “print” is sent to the Faubourg workshop, where each component of the saddle must be adapted to the measurements of the rider and his horse. Each chair is entirely made by a single craftsman and requires about thirty hours of work; he makes the chair with the best leathers, making a precise cut and stretching the leather with impeccable stitching and meticulous lacing. Finally, the final test is done on the horse and voilà! For years, the artisans of the maison française have closely followed the evolution of this increasingly competitive sport, and in 1968 they made the first “Steinkraus” close contact chair, which revolutionized the sport at the Olympic Games in Mexico. In 2013, the “Hermès Cavale” was introduced, developed with partner jockey Simon Delestre. Six years later, it was succeeded by the “Hermès Cavale II”, the first chair with a seamless seat suitable for off-saddle mounting. The brand has relied on the experience of a team of knowledgeable riders from the three Olympic disciplines.

SINCE 1910, SPECIFIC SADDLES HAVE BEEN CREATED FOR THE DIFFERENT EQUESTRIAN DISCIPLINES, THUS FAVORING THE HORSE’S COMFORT AND HARMONY WITH THE RIDER.

As a sentinel of this heritage, the Selle Rouge, developed by Belgian partner rider and Olympic medalist Jérôme Guéry, combines technical sophistication with elegance, uniting horse and human, while revealing the art of saddlery and savoir. faire Hermès in a way that is second to none. Every detail is important to allow the natural expression of the horse’s movement. First it is to find the points of friction, in order to avoid traumatisms and thus favor the performance of the pairings, then the horse’s shoulder must be measured. To take precise measurements, the Equiscan®, similar to a skeleton, is placed on the horse’s back to record no less than one hundred points corresponding to the contact zones of the saddle – the shoulder must be free and the contact must be harmonious. . Subsequently, the outline of the rider’s legs must be traced.

In 2016, the innovative Hermès Arpège, has a deep seat ideal for dressage use used by the German horsewoman and Olympic champion in Tokyo, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, followed by the “Hermès Vivace” saddle, presented at 2019 and now adopted by Astier Nicolas, the winningest French athlete at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. The sporting qualities of the new “Selle Rouge” are the result of extensive research and numerous discussions among riders, wheelchair experts assemble and craftsmen. The seat, the balance, the ergonomics and the aesthetic characteristics of the saddle are the fusion of this knowledge that is applied in the manufacture of each custom-made Hermès saddlebag, whether for a professional rider or for an amateur.

IN 1880, AT #24 FAUBOURG SAINT-HONORÉ, FRANCE, THE FIRST WORKSHOP WAS INSTALLED WHERE HERMÈS ARTISANS CREATED THE FIRST LIGHT HARNESSES, RESPECTFUL OF ANIMALS, SEEKING TOTAL HARMONY BETWEEN THE RIDER AND V THE HORSE
LUXURY

SELLE ROUGE IS LIFESTYLE. Proximity, balance, stability, comfort and safety continue to be constant challenges of the ancestral Hermès savoir faire.

Thanks to a series of innovations, the new “Selle Rouge” lives up to all of them in more ways than one: “Hermès teams are one big family. I feel supported and listened to: they are interested in my results, in my horses and, of course, in the perfect adaptation of their equipment”, commented the Olympic competitor rider Daniel Bluman “How can I improve this saddle, adapt it better to my riding and the specificities of my horses? How to make this jacket more comfortable and practical? For me, it’s a beautiful story that we continue to write together day after day.”

Respect and closeness to the horse and nature are at the origins of the house. The most beautiful leathers are selected in a carefully controlled and sustainable supply chain in France. Afterwards, they undergo a mainly vegetable tanning process.

Each saddle is made in the Hermès workshops, from the design of the saddle to its artisan manufacture created by the expert hands of a single artisan, who will take care of it over time. “In order for the rider to feel closer to his horse, the saddle has been made more refined and lighter,” explains Charly Palmieri, artisan saddler and auctioneer awarded the Meilleur Ouvrier de France prize. “We have combined technical efficiency with aesthetic refinement.” The depth of the seat guarantees comfort and harmony between saddle and rider; The saddle frame, which has its origins in dressage, benefits from a slender fork with an optimized design to increase lightness, closeness and stability. The slender fork of its horse and the recessed lugs prevent unnecessary thickness from hindering movements and the skirt is integrated into the flaps. Saddle padding and panels have been thinner. The unique seam punctuated by a saddle stitch, known as fil-au-trait, prevents unnecessary friction.

Several years of testing have shown that wood is still the best choice for the bridle frame. In addition to being a recyclable material, it is flexible and for this reason it is used both for cushioning and for comfort, since it adapts perfectly to the horse’s anatomy: “My first point of contact is the horse,” says François Boissinot, an expert in saddles and adviser in the development of mounts: “I greet him, I observe him, I study his character, his temperament, his musculature, his mobility. This gives me an idea of your health, and any illnesses or conditions. We look at what can be improved and harmonized. If the horse is comfortable, the rider will be too.”

Its red color is born from the gestures of the craftsman, from the oiling of a rouge H leather saddle, the emblematic color of the house during its manufacture. This new rouge sellier, or saddler’s red, is obtained when the craftsman oils the saddle, anointing it with oil and glycerin soap to soften, nourish and protect the leather in depth, giving rise to warm and intense shades of color that evolve over time. time.

Created for show jumping and flat work, the Selle Rouge is suitable for riding both in and out of the saddle.

Conceived for the ease of the horse and to favor a perfect harmony between rider and horse, this saddle marks a new creative impulse and a decisive leap.

What can be more natural for the figure of a horse?

RAFAEL NADAL IS ONE OF THE GREATEST TENNIS PLAYERS IN THE HISTORY AND ONE OF THE GREATEST ATHLETES OF THE 21ST CENTURY.

The Mallorcan tennis player’s career began as a child, at four years of age. His uncle Toni was his coach and has been by his side throughout his career to be a better person and player. When he was little, Uncle Toni, instead of motivating him with flattery, made him think about: “Why did the ball miss, why did I miss that shot, why did that happen, why did that player beat me, why am I not good enough?”.

His goal was to make his nephew really good and thus he managed to win Rafael Nadal his first Roland Garros title at the age of 19, in the presence of the then King of Spain, Juan Carlos I and with Zinedine Zidane, his soccer idol, who handed over the trophy. At 22 he was already number one in the ATP world rankings.

Toni never let Rafa believe he was more than anyone and surely part of Nadal’s sporting success is due to the way his uncle has educated and trained him. “We also train Rafael’s mental strength, everything in life is trained” says Toni.

TWO LOVES: TENNIS AND SAILING. Recently, at the Monaco Yacht Show, the Sunreef 80, Rafael Nadal’s super yacht, was exhibited, which was delivered to him in Mallorca during the month of June 2020.

The boat named Great White, has capacity for 8 guests, a bright lounge, a dining room in the bow area with two 77-inch televisions installed one behind the other and an additional resting place next to the entrance to the bow terrace .

Beneath the large sofa, the Great White’s aft garage hides a jet-ski and a selection of water toys to help you enjoy your stay. A large hydraulic bathing platform has been installed to carry the yacht’s dinghy and offer an additional spot for waterside sunbathing.

The flybridge offers guests an outside lounge, bar, dining area, large sun loungers and a television. The ‘Great White’ propulsion has two 1200 horsepower engines that allow a maximum speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.

FASHION AND TRENDS. icons

HER CINEMATOGRAPHIC AND MUSICAL CAREER WAS LONG AND SUCCESSFUL, AS WELL AS HIS INTENSE LOVE STORIES WERE LEGENDARY, first with his discoverer, the British filmmaker John Barry, and above all, with the French actor, musician and filmmaker, Serge Gainsbourg, of whom he was the muse until the end of his life, despite no longer being a couple. In 1969, she shocked some and astonished others with the release of the song “Je’te Aime... Moi non Plus” where she is heard, between orgasmic gasps, saying how much she loves her man. Despite censorship in some countries, it was a worldwide success. Jane’s peculiar timbre of voice, mellifluous, soft, perhaps weak, was very well used by Gainsbourg to create a whole identity of hers around her.

Endowed with a striking beauty and enormous stage presence, with the haughty British sobriety on a par with French elegance and sensuality, the cultures to which she belonged, Jane Birkin was one of the sex symbols of the sixties and the inspiration for a whole generation of fashion and style enthusiasts. So apt was she to rock practically anything she wore that she inspired the creation of one of the most iconic pieces in the fashion industry.

In 1980, recently separated from Serge Ginsbourg and romantically linked to the French filmmaker Jacques Doillon, Jane Birkin coincided in a routine flight between Paris and London, with Jean-Louis Dumas, executive director of Hermès. Upon landing, maybe at Heathrow, maybe at Gatwick, Dumas already had the full inspiration for her new creation. In 1984, Hermés launched a fine leather bag, inspired and created for her, the legendary Birkin Bag.

JANE BIRKIN’S LIFE WAS NOT WITHOUT CHIAROSCURO. She lived through the pain of the death of her eldest daughter, photographer Kate Barry, in 2013. Kate fell out of the window of her London apartment. It is presumed to be a suicide.

After recovering from that bereavement, she remained active through various philanthropic endeavors, in addition to receiving numerous decorations and honors in both of her homelands, the United Kingdom and France.

Her health was declining until in recent years, she suffered a stroke and suffered from leukemia, a disease that ended up causing her death on July 16, 2023 at her residence in Paris. She was 76 years old. Her remains rest in the Montparnassé cemetery.

Jane Birkin went on to immortality, to the Olympus of the muses that inspired generations.

JORGE AYALA work in different disciplines. He studied architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, followed by a master’s degree from the Architectural Association in London. After living in China for a year, he settled in Paris, France, to start his own eponymous label. Established since then between Paris and Mexico, Jorge is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to material research and experimentation within his practice, resulting in fashion design, applied art, object art and contemporary pieces, and allowing him a palette of collaborations with luxury brands. .

The now creative director of the fashion platform Futur Fashion, which empowers new talents in the fashion business, talks about his new collaboration with United Nude, a brand that has worked with personalities like Lady Gaga: “In architecture we talk very followed by the form, and the background in the design. Within my collaboration with United Nude and Rem D Koolhaas, this paradigm makes perfect sense; that is to say, not only the way of carrying out, materializing the shoes, making them, but the raison d’être, the message they carry, is what makes our collaboration fundamental and that results in a light and audacious footwear, designed by two architecs”, commented the artist from Mexico City.

In the case of this first collaboration, Jorge sought dematerialization, an almost invisible shoe that has no weight or almost 0 grams, a totally manifest positioning in relation to the current trend of chunky, volumetric shoes that involve a lot of matter and too much effort when walking, he explains.

In addition, the Sonar Hi, as his shoes are called, “They are a synthesis of light and the reflection, when walking, of a certain spirituality.” These pieces are perfect for “contemporary women who like to dress well, but don’t take fashion seriously, and for all who like to innovate with different brands.”

What caught his attention about collaborating with United Nude is that his pieces are classified as the designs of the future, with an allure of extreme architecture, audacity and innovation. Regarding this project, Jorge shares that he knows Rem D Koolhaas. They studied together at the Architectural Association, in London: “Since then, we have been, before being partners, excellent friends, two architects seeking to innovate in the world of fashion. This is how our dynamics came about, through the years and with the maturity that each one of us has in our field”. “I love creating, being creative and always carrying out the designs; I like theory, but I am much more attached to practice”, confesses the Mexican architect and designer who has seduced the entire world with his creations.

FASHION WEEK JALISCO

MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK MEXICO presented its first 2023 edition in Guadalajara, Jalisco, a city that, due to its deep-rooted creativity, culture, history, tradition and clothing, is key in the current panorama of the national fashion industry.

The official fashion platform in Mexico presented the autumn/winter 2023 collections from April 26 to 28, betting on the multi-site experience, taking and recognizing spaces of culture and architecture in the state, making it clear that Jalisco is inserted in a contemporary conversation without leaving tradition behind.

The objective within the most important fashion platform in the country is to promote, in addition to the creative contribution of each designer, the places that highlight the culture and tradition of the ‘Perla Tapatía’.

This edition was based on a look from a fashion perspective at the local periphery and the Guadalajara tradition.

With the local focus as the central axis of this edition, designers such as: ABEL LÓPEZ, ALFREDO MARTÍNEZ, JULIA Y RENATA, NONAME AND OLMOS Y FLORES, were part of this edition; in addition to having new names within the platform, such as PAULINA LUNA and the TORONERO brand. LORENA SARAVIA from Mexico City, came to Guadalajara to present her collection after her participation in Madrid fashion week.

The designer presented a collection inspired by rationalist architecture. Garments with a clean and organized design with lines and geometric shapes as a base to create a harmonious structure. The textiles: silks, leathers, viscose, polyester, fabrics, wool and corduroy, are made in oversized silhouettes.

LORENA SARAVIA

The designer from Mexico City presented a collection inspired by the aesthetics of Mexico and family albums from the early 20th century. The cuts are elegant and defined and the silhouettes are classic, made in fabrics such as silk, leather, satin and denim. Saravia explores the deconstruction of basics, donning jean chaps or trapeze-shaped tops.

JULIA Y RENATA

The Franco sisters showed in the collection presented at Fashion Week Mexico, their love and roots for Guadalajara. Timeless garments and mixed silhouettes show the ability of these designers to create pieces that can be worn by anyone, regardless of gender or age. The combination of classic and functional clothing for urban life, characteristic of Julia and Renata, is one of the most avant-garde proposals within the national fashion industry.

BEING A GENTLEMAN IS NOT ABOUT CARRYING CLEAN SHOES FOR VANITY, IT’S A GESTURE WHICH SHOWS US THAT IF SOMEONE CAN PAY ATTENTION TO

MY NAME IS JESÚS 4LONSO, a Mexican designer, teacher, hospital entrepreneur and fashion enthusiast. For twenty years I have been able to dedicate my life to the concept of author’s design, where thanks to my service I have been allowed to express a perspective of life and create a whole particular rhetoric.

I will talk about how my perception of style is born within the culture of men.

The story begins one morning at the beginning of the 2000s, when I came across a Cuban music documentary. The sound of trumpets woke me up; sleepy, I could see a generation that no longer circulated in the streets and their ways of acting reminded me of customs that I could see during my childhood in small gestures that reminded me of my grandfather or my father.

They were simple but important things, of an authentic nature, like the use of fresh handkerchiefs to share or the good habit of wearing polished shoes.

The morning after watching that documentary, I was able to remember some of the melodies that the group of musicians performed and I went to a well-known record store to look for the record material. At that moment, I was able to connect with a lifestyle that spoke to me of a romantic Latin America full of emotional richness, but above all, one that valued love and invited people to proclaim it.

I was quite young at that time and the influence of the United States with its concept of comfort had us subjected to a generation that liked what MTV showed us; So I decided to put the sneakers and ripped jeans aside to experiment with tailored suits and I began to create personalized items.

This was the turning point of a personality within the world of Mexican design that today celebrates personal identity, but, on the other hand, acts as a spokesperson for good living and good human practices. That was my first real approach to fashion. In the romantic gentleman style I was able to experience something: MASCULINITY and with it, the importance of staying aligned. In this way I understood the sense of leadership that clothing gives us with an example of self-esteem and esteem for our environment.

The style is also a good way to encourage the world to carry on with dignity and practice virtues.

A loved one is not dragged down a dangerous path. It shields you from adverse odds. The same happens with our way of dressing, how much do we say with our appearance to the people in front of us?

I believe that style is a good way of living, since paying attention to a superfluous situation checks many basic aspects of the life of any individual.

KING CHARLES III AND QUEEN CAMILLA WAVING TO THE CROWD AFTER THE CORONATION

ON MAY 6, 2023, THE STREETS OF LONDON WERE FILLED WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAD COME TO WITNESS THE CORONATION OF THEIR NEW MONARCH.

The event was witnessed by members of the royal family, dignitaries, heads of state from around the world and tuned in by a global audience.

The ceremony was rich in tradition and typical British pageantry. The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, Primate of the Anglican Church, presided over the coronation, which took place in Westminster Abbey, one of the most iconic and historic buildings in the country.

CHARLES III wore the traditional royal regalia, including a crimson tunic, jeweled crown, and scepter. As the crown was placed on his temple, eyewitnesses paid tribute as bells tolled across the City of London.

One of the most significant moments of the coronation was the oath of allegiance, in which the new monarch swore to abide by the laws of the kingdom. The King pledged to serve the people of the United Kingdom with honour, integrity and humility. This moment was a reminder of the importance of the British monarchy in maintaining the constitutional and political stability of the country.

After the oath, the monarch was presented with the symbols of his authority: the orb, the sword of state, and the royal scepter.

THE CORONATION OF KING CHARLES III

MARKED THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM

Fundamental symbols of British national identity, these objects represent the power and authority vested in the King to govern and protect the nation.

The coronation ended with a traditional procession, during which the king made his way from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, where he appeared on the balcony to greet the applauding crowds.

The coronation of KING CHARLES III represented a continuation of a millennial tradition and symbolized the enduring role of the British monarchy in the political and social life of the nation.

It was a proud moment for the people of the United Kingdom, who have always held their monarchy in high regard and have continued to support it throughout the centuries.

The crowning of Elizabeth II’s heir marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the United Kingdom, a pivotal nation.

MILLENNIAL INSTITUTION

THE BRITISH MONARCHY IS ONE OF THE OLDEST AND MOST RESPECTED INSTITUTIONS IN THE WORLD.

The history of the institution goes back more than a thousand years, to the times of the Dark Ages, when the kingdoms that made up the Anglo-Saxon heptarchy fought to preserve their island against the Nordic invaders and it has witnessed and participated in how a remote kingdom from a remote island on the edge of civilization, it managed to become the main power of the world during nineteenth-century times and continues to enjoy enormous influence and power today. It is more than a millennium of existence and in a thousand years many changes and transformations take place.

In 871, Alfred of Wessex became the first King of England, going down in history as Alfred “The Great”. Since then, the monarchy has gone through many stages such as: the Norman conquest in 1066, the Angevin Empire and the Crusades, the Hundred Years War, the War of the Roses in the 15th century and the Glorious Revolution in the 17th century until the union with the kingdoms of Scotland and Ireland in the 18th century.

During the Middle Ages, England was a kingdom of contrasts, at times powerful and expansive but generally marginal compared to its eternal rivals, France, Castile/Spain and the Holy Roman Empire.

English kings came to rule over a territory that stretched from Scotland to France, well into the mainland, but the crown also faced many challenges, such as the lack of full control of its main island due to the fierce resistance of the Scots, maintaining its continental domains and the power of the two powers that dominated the West in the limits between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age: France and Spain.

While the French, Spanish, and Portuguese battled for global supremacy overseas, in the Age of Discovery, England was underpopulated, poor, dealing with epidemics, political instability, and religious conflict.

In the 17th century, the English monarchy faced its greatest political and social crisis. King Charles I was executed in 1649 and the monarchy was abolished during the English Civil War, passing the country to Oliver Cromwell’s regime, however, after the failed and tyrannical republican experience, the monarchy was restored in 1660 with the coronation of Charles II. In 1701, the union with which the United Kingdom of Great Britain was born occurred.

Between the 18th and 19th centuries, the United Kingdom became a stable and respected nation along with the declines of the Spanish Empire and France after the Napoleonic hecatomb. The United Kingdom became the largest empire in the world and the main colonial power. During the reign of Victoria, the British monarchy reached its maximum splendor and became the symbol of greatness and stability thanks to the warlike power of the Royal Navy and the commercial power of the East India Company.

In the 20th century, the monarchy faced a series of transformations due to World War I, the interwar period and World War II, where it struggled to survive the brutal onslaught of Nazi Germany and after prevailing, faced in the post war, decolonization.

Despite everything, the British nation resisted and the monarchy adapted to the social and political changes of the time.

Today, the British monarchy remains a respected institution. Elizabeth II, who reigned for 70 years, was an example of probity and a sense of duty to hold the investiture.

Over the centuries, the monarchy has faced many challenges and has survived thanks to its ability to adapt.

At present, the monarchy with CHARLES III at the head, continues to be the highest symbol of British national identity.

THE MISUNDERSTANDED PRINCE

CHARLES PHILLIP ARTHUR GEORGE

He was born on November 14, 1948 at Buckingham Palace in London, United Kingdom. He is the eldest son of the then Princess of Wales Elizabeth, future Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Charles was educated at home until he was eight years old and then attended different schools in the UK and abroad.

At age 21, Charles completed his military training in the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. The following year, he became Prince of Wales, a title given to the heir to the British throne. Since then, Prince Charles has played a very active role in the public life of the United Kingdom and has been the main benefactor of various philanthropic causes. Charles was, with 64 years of work, the crown prince with the longest service, appointed in 1958, invested in 1969, until the death of his mother in 2022.

In 1981 he married Diana Spencer, with whom he fathered his children, Princes William and Harry. Diana and Charles divorced in 1996 after years of incompatibility and scandals.

In addition to his role as Prince of Wales, Charles has held various positions and has founded and led charitable, cultural and environmental organisations.

On April 9, 2005, he married his current consort, Camilla Shand, with whom he had a sentimental bond since youth, even though they were both living through their respective marriages, he with Diana Spencer and she with the polo player and army brigadier British, Andrew Parker Bowles.

After the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, in September 2022, Charles swiftly assumed the royal investiture as the new monarch of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth nations.

As monarch, Charles has promised to continue his philanthropic work and promote education, sustainability and culture in the United Kingdom and the world, but above all, to modernize and make an ancient institution compatible with today.

THE MONARCH’S CHALLENGES

THE NEWLY CROWNED CHARLES III OF THE UNITED KINGDOM FINDS HIMSELF FACING A GREAT CHALLENGE IN HIS NEW ROLE AS MONARCH.

From an economy that is going through unpleasant moments after the contingency caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, Brexit and in general the consequences of the controversial governments of the last four prime ministers: David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, to the UK’s role on the international stage on issues such as the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Charles will have to work with government leaders to find a solution that is beneficial to his country in the long term. Despite welfare programs and free healthcare, there is notable economic instability in the UK. King CHARLES III will have to be the link between the British people and their institutions.

Finally, the role of the United Kingdom in the international community will be a major challenge for King CHARLES III. The UK has a long history of playing a global leadership role.

All these challenges must be faced by the monarch who, due to his low charisma, the controversy over his advanced age and scandals related to his stormy marriage with Diana Spencer, the story of his relationship with his current queen consort, Camilla, and the most recent turbulence Caused by his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, he does not have the popularity enjoyed by his mother, the late Elizabeth II, or his eldest son and heir, Prince William.

The issue is that charisma is an overrated gift, and the greatest tyrants in history lived with plenty of charisma and charm, while low profiles like CHARLES III of the United Kingdom, over time, managed to write great pages in the history.

COUNCIL SKIES

We really need the return of oasis?

98 BUBBLES&CHERRIES SUMMER ISSUE 2023
ART, CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT. music

SINCE THE RELEASE OF HIS SELF-TITLED ALBUM: NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS IN 2011, NOEL GALLAGHER’S SOLO CAREER HAS ONLY CONSOLIDATED to the point that some say that Noel’s work as a soloist surpasses the iconic work that left as the brains of Oasis. In this summer of 23, Noel release Council Skies, the fourth solo studio album of his career, heir to the glory of Oasis in his recording career between 1994 and 2008 and backed by his solo predecessors: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (2011 ), Chasing Yesterday (2015), Who Built the Moon? (2017) and the compilation Back the Way We Come Vol. 1 (2021).

COUNCIL SKIES, ONE MORE FOUNDATION FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER. Council Skies, produced by Sour Mash, a label owned by Noel Gallagher and recorded at the Lone Star and Abbey Road studios in London, consists of 10 songs with a total duration of 43 minutes in its basic edition, available on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music; there is also a physical version in CD format that has a bonus track, a limited edition in LP format with two extra songs and a deluxe edition on CD that has 14 extra tracks with a total duration of 108 minutes.

ABOUT ADULT LOVE, LIFE AND ACCEPTANCE. The songs that make up Council Skies have representative elements of Noel Gallagher’s musical work. The deep lyrics about love, but not cheesy and sweetened love, but adult and realistic love in a song like “Trying to Find a World That’s Been and Gone: Part 1” (track 5) where he addresses the grief caused by separation in a personal relationship, be it love, family or friendship, as well as reflections on how to face existence through Noel’s brutally honest personal vision of life as “Easy Now” (track 6) as well as addressing issues of inclusion and acceptance in “Pretty Boy” (track 2) in whose official video clip the issue of transsexuality is addressed with the honesty and pragmatism that have made Noel Gallagher of public life loved and hated, dealing with a current issue with clarity and simplicity without falling into the harassing preaching and woke victimization.

THE HYMN MAKER. The emotionality of the choirs, strings and other orchestral elements are complemented by the basic and at the same time tasty acoustic guitar chords and excellent performances of drums, bass, keyboards and percussion, product of the collaboration of musicians such as: Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock, former members of Oasis and Pet Shop Boys, Robert Smith and Jason Cooper. Critics treat Council Skies very well. Metacritics gave it a rating of 81 having universal acclaim, that is, without negative reviews. Other specialized media have praised the album and here at BUBBLES&CHERRIES we join the clamor, praise and cheers for the latest work by the greatest of the Gallaghers.

THE ACCLAIMED RETURN, BUT (PERHAPS) UNNECESSARY. Noel Gallagher and his brother, Liam, are great soccer fans of reigning English Premier League and UEFA Champions League champions Manchester City. In the preview of the last Champions League final, in which City defeated Inter Milan in Istanbul, a rumor arose that if the Citizens defeated the Neroazzurri and therefore took the trophy to the gray and industrious Manchester, as it finally happened, drunk with happiness, the Gallaghers would refound Oasis, the biggest rock band of the last decade of the 20th century.

On Twitter, the rumor grew along with the drunkenness of Jack Grealish, a player for Manchester City and the England national team, who made public the ethylic feast with which he celebrated the most glorious season in the club’s history, to the point that many fans chose a photo of Grealish at the team celebration parade in the streets of Manchester, as a potential cover of the supposed Oasis comeback album, but it only remained in that, in wishes and clamors, because although Liam is enthusiastic about the idea, to Noel, despite the famous “He’s got my number, he’s got my manager number. Call us” doesn’t really want to resume the work and artistic relationship (and perhaps not the family one) with his brother. The public who loved the Britpop of nineties and the evolution of the band in the two thousand, like the vocalist, long for Oasis, but the brain of the band is more comfortable in his solo role.

Mass hysteria calls for the return of Oasis, but do we really need it, when Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds is a true wonder?

I think not, and you?

PAPAYA to the Moon

THE FIRST PAPAYA TO REACH THE MOON, IT IS PART OF THE WORK OF A MEXICAN FROM WILD SPIRIT

THE MEXICAN ARTIST, ALEJANDRO GLATT, WILL TAKE FRUITY FRESHNESS BEYOND OUR WORLD, SINCE HE WILL BE THE CREATOR OF AN OLD PAPAYA FOR THE FIRST TIME TO THE MOON. Yes, through NASA and SpaceX’s Nova-C IM-1 space mission, the work of Alejandro Glatt, selected along with 222 other artists from around the world, will form part of the Lunaprise Museum project, the first art museum outside of the planet Earth.

Alejandro recently toured New York City during NFT Week and presented the Papayas to the Moon project and an exclusive NFT collection. New York felt the impact that Alejandro and his project Feel The Fruit are having and growing exponentially.

Alejandro Glatt presented his work at Van Der Plan Gallery, Orchard Street, Wonderfair, Ideal Glass Studios, the Times Square Penthouse, Quad Studios, Jarvis Convention Center, and Pollyn Brooklyn.

He is the representation of what effort means in modern times. Being an artist is no longer just about painting and Alejandro Glatt explained this concept in depth during his speaker panel with Honey Suckle magazine at Ideal Glass Studios: “Being a contemporary artist today for me means: traveling the world, making connections , creating content, planting trees, eating fruits, video mapping, paintings, NFTs, experiences, ceremonies, photography, talks... I am not a conventional artist, I am an activist who uses fruit as a means of expression to connect humanity with nature. Simple, raw and real.” commented Alejandro Glatt.

Alejandro leads and represents an entire generation of millennial creators who don’t follow rules. He is a rebel, a wild and natural being. He basically feeds himself through a frugivorous diet, drawing inspiration from every mouthful of juicy fruit, his main artistic medium for creating. THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO

A FEW MONTHS AGO I BEGAN THE SEARCH FOR THE BEST SPOT IN LOS CABOS FOR EYEBROW TREATMENTS AND BEAUTY ENHANCEMENTS. The recommendation of several personalities was THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO with Kathya Solórzano. When contacting the creator of this space, I got several surprises. The presence of a hardworking, professional woman, with a perfect appearance as well as a first class staff. Before carrying out the procedure, they shared the previous care with me and asked me to fill out a very specific questionnaire to profile myself. While I was having the procedure, we talked about myths and personalities with incredible eyebrows and she told me her incredible history and preparation. For all of the above, we create the following list of questions for you to give yourself the opportunity to invest and go to THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO. I definitely fell in love with my brows and the whole experience. I suggest you live it.

1. HOW WAS THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO BORN? Nine years ago from a personal need to look for alternatives to compact eyebrow tattoos, I began to lose my hair due to stress, in addition to the fact that I began to thread and get frustrated, because I could not improve the eyebrows of all my clients, only those of those with bushy eyebrows, for which, looking for options, I began to be passionate about the subject and there were no places dedicated to the care of the frame of our face and I loved the idea of making it my profession.

2. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT PAST TRENDS? LIKE EXTREMELY THIN EYEBROWS, WILL HE COME BACK? I hope that all of us who abused this trend in the nineties have a photo to prove it and we can share them to persuade the new generations that it was not a very flattering trend. Every day we serve clients who regret having taken the well-known “thread eyebrow” too far.

3. WHAT ARE THE MOST REQUESTED PROCEDURES AT THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO? The most demanded procedures are microblading and design and threading.

4. TIPS FOR WOMEN AND MEN WHEN PERFORMING A PROCEDURE TO LOOK BETTER? If they are already sure of making a change, they should stick with their preferences; that is, do not look for an extreme change or very far from how you are used to wearing your eyebrows, another very good tip is that you arrive at the studio knowing which of your two eyebrows you like the most and why. Get ready to tell us what you like and what you don’t, since although we are experts, it helps us that the client has a clearer idea of what he expects from his procedure.

BEAUTY. spots

5. FOR THOSE WHO RECEIVED OR ARE EXPERIENCING THE CHEMOTHERAPY PROCESS, DO YOU RECOMMEND THIS PROCEDURE TO HIDE THE LOSS OF EYEBROWS? Let’s talk specifically about microblading, these patients must have validation from their doctor to do it, but there will also be an assessment from us to obtain a satisfactory result. The client must have the right skin and hair type to give them beautiful work that makes them feel better than before.

6. DO MEN GO TO THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO? Although every day it is more common for gentlemen to come to us, there is a marked difference and it is still women who predominate in our clientele, but I can tell you that all the men who visit us are fascinated by the change.

7. DO YOU CARE FOR PEOPLE WITH ERRORS RESULTING FROM A BAD PROCEDURE? Of course we receive them, I love to improve or fix cases like this, of course, as long as I am sure that I can offer something more correct. We are living in times in which if the eyebrow expert has the proper preparation, he can fix almost everything, we have lasers and specific peeling treatments to remove pigment, as well as tone modifiers to convert unwanted colors due to previous residues into a brown tone or blonde.

8. WHICH CELEBRITIES DO YOU THINK HAVE AMAZING EYEBROWS? Lily Collins with her perfect asymmetry, Sofia Vergara with her organic style, Emma Watson, Natalie Portman with her divine Audrey Hepburn-esque straight brows, Brooke Shields’ iconic brows for being thick and a little wild.

9. ARE THE BROW STUDIO MEXICO AND ALL ITS PROCEDURES FOR ALL AGES? More than a question of age, it would be the quality of the skin, since we have met people of the same advanced age, one with very mature and thin skin and the other with a texture and thickness totally adequate for micropigmentation. As for young skin, those under 18 must have the consent of their parents and it is at the discretion of the specialist.

10. WHAT HAPPENS WITH THOSE WHO SUGGEST THAT THEIR DAUGHTERS UNDERGO THESE PROCEDURES AT AN EARLY AGE? We must remember that the mature stage of our eyebrows arrives around twenty. Any drastic change before that stage can cause severe regret. Now, if a teenager struggles to have abundant eyebrows, unibrows, rebellious eyebrows and social pressure is high, it is advisable to help him improve this situation without drastic waxing or straightening treatments that can damage the hair follicles for life.

11. HOW OFTEN DO YOUR CLIENTS GO TO TOUCH UP? The frequency with which they show up to perform a micropigmentation or microblading touch-up goes from eight months in very oily skin and up to two years in dry skin, but more than anything, our clients return when they feel that they need it and that It is the best measure because each skin is a world. As for hair removal, dyes or henna, it also varies. We have the client who is very punctual with her arrangements and the one who has an event and wants the perfect eyebrows for the occasion and the one who goes on vacation and does not want to struggle with the daily arrangement.

12. WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU SEND ABOUT BEAUTY AND SELF-ESTEEM? I could give you a super roll that beauty is internal (which of course is what is real, what is true, what is lasting) but I am going to dare to tell you that if you think you can improve your appearance to feel more beautiful and confident, they do it. We are in the era of little arrangements here and here and it’s worth it. There is nothing like looking in the mirror and liking it, yes, do not skimp on quality. Look for options, observe their work (before and after), listen to recommendations but that are valid, that is, that the results are real and good, and if at the moment you do not have enough resources, wait and save to go with whoever you decide make that change. In the end that “cheap is expensive” is still valid. Also review side effects, make sure your state of health is adequate, know the risks and make the best decision. Do not forget that you should not abuse these procedures

13. WHAT IS YOUR BEST BEAUTY SECRET TO LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL AND CARED FOR IN ALL ASPECTS? I tell you that I suffer a lot because I love to eat and overindulge, so I try to have a week as clean as possible and I only treat myself on the weekends. I hardly drink alcohol so I can eat a little more without so much guilt. Pilates are part of my daily routine, especially to improve posture and alleviate the ailments of the profession. My face has never been sunbathed, I use 50 sunscreen religiously at least twice a day, even on my hands when I’m driving.

DR. FRANCISCO FEDERICO MEDRANO solve doubts

ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS SPECIALISTS IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE IN MEXICO ANSWERS ELEVEN QUESTIONS FROM HIS OFFICE OF CABO

1. WHAT ARE THE MOST REQUESTED PROCEDURES IN SUMMER SEASON FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN? In the summer season, the most requested and trending non-invasive aesthetic medicine treatments in women are those related to preventing and treating conditions related to sun exposure, controlling excessive sweating of the armpits, feet and hands, lip design with acid hyaluronic acid, neckline and hand rejuvenation as well as expression line treatments, mainly in the upper facial third. Body treatments to reduce sizes and buttock augmentation. In men, treatments to reduce sweating, expression lines of the upper third and application of hyaluronic acid in the mandibular angle and chin are also requested in this season to enhance masculine characteristics.

2. WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO WOMEN, OF ANY AGE, WHO EXPOSE THEMSELVES TO THE SUN WITH SUNSCREEN IN ORDER TO HAVE A PERFECT TANNING THIS SUMMER? I congratulate you, there is no need to be afraid of the sun. It can be enjoyed as long as it is done responsibly, using adequate protection and avoiding prolonged sun contact.

3. THERE IS A TREND IN DOCTORS WHO PROMOTE NOT USING SUNSCREENS BECAUSE THEY CONSIDER THEM HARMFUL AND THE REAL CAUSE OF SKIN CANCER. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION AND RECOMMENDATION IN THIS REGARD? This is totally false! It is something without any kind of serious scientific support to prove it. The negative effects of inadequate sun exposure are widely studied and supported by science. Although many of the sun protection products are made up of some chemicals, this does not mean that they are harmful, carcinogenic or malignant, quite the opposite. The sun’s rays travel to us in the form of waves of two types: long waves called UVA and short waves called UVB. UVA rays are not so harmful to the skin, however they are responsible for premature aging of the skin due to the loss of collagen and elastin. UVB rays are harmful to the skin, causing burns and affecting the DNA of our cells, which causes skin cancer. Using adequate means of protection will always be the best option for our aesthetics and health in the short, medium and long term.

4. WHAT PROCEDURES ARE YOUR FAVORITES AND THE ONES THAT YOU MOST RECOMMEND TO READERS? Treatments that stop, reverse and prevent premature facial aging such as: stem cell protein derivatives, collagen biostimulation, deep hydration with hyaluronic acid as well as lip designs and application of botulinum toxin to treat expression lines.

110 BUBBLES&CHERRIES SUMMER ISSUE 2023
HEALTH & WELLNESS. aesthetic medicine

5. IN THE SPECIFIC CASE OF MEN, IS IT COMMON FOR THE USE OF BOTOX TO INCREASE MORE EACH DAY? Yeah. There are more and more men interested in taking care of their appearance and health. Certain taboos that only limit are being lost. The application of botulinum toxin to treat expression lines is an example, however, there are other treatments whose male demand has increased, such as skin care, facial masculinization and treatments to control hair loss or hair micrografting.

6. WHY IS THERE SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN TERMS OF THE TIME AND DURATION OF BOTOX IN EACH PERSON? The duration time is directly related to the strength of the facial muscles. It should be noted that the treatment is aimed at reducing the force of contraction of these muscles. When the muscles that are in charge of some of our expressions are highly developed, the effect will last less time, therefore, it is important to apply quality aesthetic and preventive treatments and thus the results will be much more satisfactory.

7. HOW OFTEN AND WHERE DO YOU PREPARE AND ACQUIRE MORE KNOWLEDGE? The preparation is constant, week after week. It is online when it is from other parts of Mexico and from abroad and I attend different workshops, conferences and congresses of aesthetic medicine in different states of the republic, with the most avant-garde procedures, supported by articles and scientific research to be able to provide the patient the most innovative and current techniques and the application of the best products.

8. WHY IS THERE, WITHIN THE WORLD OF AESTHETIC MEDICINE, SO MUCH POLARIZATION ABOUT THE TENSION THREADS? Personally, I like to carry out safe treatments with satisfactory results in the short, medium and long term without any type of negative consequence. Until now, the threads are not treatments supported by scientific studies or by recognized brands and personally I do not feel confident in their application since there is no support to provide security in negative results in the short, medium or long term. It is always better to have the security provided by recognized brands with extensive scientific studies so our patient will not have a risk of negative reactions at any time.

9. 9. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OBSERVE OR REQUEST WHEN GOING TO AN AESTHETIC BEAUTY CLINIC? That the treatment be carried out by certified aesthetic doctors and know the brands of the products that are going to be used. The doctor must be able to generate trust, demonstrating well-founded knowledge and being able to clarify all his concerns, so they will know that he is someone trustworthy and trained to carry out their treatments.

10. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF FILLERS? By using fillers using the appropriate techniques and with quality brands, very good results can be obtained in the short, medium and long term, since, in addition to improving facial harmony, they can stop or reverse aging conditions. These are products that, when backed by prestigious brands, are very safe, and are also backed by research, which gives us confidence that when applied, we will have very good results without jeopardizing patient safety.

11. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE PROCEDURE THAT PREVENTS EXTREME SWEATING ON THE HANDS AND UNDERARMS AND HOW DOES IT WORK? Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating in the areas of the armpits, hands and feet, can be treated by applying botulinum toxin, which will act on the glands in those areas, causing their activity to decrease. In this way, sweating is reduced, for a time, between four and twelve months.

THE CHILD’S MOURNING

IT IS IMPORTANT TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT MOTIVATES CHILDREN’S INTEREST, CAREFULLY OBSERVE WHAT THEY ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT, WHAT TRIGGERS THEIR HAPPINESS AND THEIR RESOUNDING SMILE.

Situations that fill them with joy should be observed, such as accompanying a pet, but that can make them sad or self-absorbed at the time of their surprise loss.

It is possible that when the family says goodbye to their companion animal, infants share memories of complicity they had with them, for example: when they received them when they got home from school, when they went for a walk and even when they were sick in bed, among many other activities. It is at this point where the adult can accompany them in grieving, identifying and understanding this situation from the perspective of a dignified farewell. Adrián Rodríguez-Granada Madrid, General Manager of Pets in the Sky, a pet funeral agency, has witnessed the sadness that in these difficult moments invades all members of the family, but more deeply the children.

HEALTH & WELLNESS. mental health

“Some show a lot of strength, they understand the process very well, they see it as a natural farewell; however, for others it is very difficult, they show their feelings through overflowing crying, they do not understand what is happening and it is difficult for them to assimilate at that moment that they will not see it again. Given this, it is very important to redirect that moment towards the beautiful memory, towards the evocation of a dignified farewell in the midst of the pain and strangeness of the loss”, shared Rodríguez-Granada Madrid.

In PETS IN THE SKY, they witness families saying goodbye to their pets. It does not matter if it was a cat, a dog, a turtle or some other species, what is important is the bond that is formed between all the members and the transition that their departure implies.

They know that it is important for children to learn about the process of life and death, which is why they have a toy library, among other areas, so that accompanied by their families they can have a duel based on understanding, love and empathy.

Many people do not realize how traumatic and confusing death can be for a child. At his young age, his universe is not so big, compared to that of adults, it is at this point that his relatives must be alert to identify situations that can make him sad or even lead to a change in behavior. In most cases, the loss of a pet is a child’s first experience of death. Parents can’t stop their children from feeling the pain of losing their friend, but they can help make the grieving process as healthy and manageable as possible.

For example, it should be known that the situation will not be solved by telling the little one that another pet will be bought or given to him, so that with that promise he stops crying. Even, in some oriental cultures, the signs of pain are manifested openly, they are not repressed, but they cry and lament, in this way the feelings of regret are gradually eliminated. Crying when a pet dies is a sincere expression of what you’re feeling at the time, it’s not corny or showing weakness.

According to a study conducted by Dr. Joshua Russel, an assistant professor at Canisius College, children between the ages of 6 and 13 don’t see their pets as just animals, but see them as siblings or best friends with whom they have strong emotional ties. That is why it is important to give the child the opportunity to talk about how he feels, and to let them explore his feelings.

CHILDREN UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE LONGER-LONG-LASTING SPECIES. The same author suggests that children have a notion of how long a normal life cycle lasts for various animal species. For example, they understand that some pets like fish or hamsters have a short life cycle, but this is unexpected for dogs, cats, or rabbits. The study revealed that although children grieved over the loss of their pet, they are more likely to accept the death of an animal that lived its entire life cycle.

CELEBRATING LIFE, There are many ways that children and their families can honor the life of their recently departed pet, one of which may be through ceremonies (regardless of faith) such as those held at at Pets in the Sky in the Last Goodbye Rooms, where the family gathers to give thanks for the happy times they shared together.

Families can keep the ashes at home in an urn, which may have characteristics that they consider best represent the personality that their pet had: design, color and material now take on a new meaning. There are also urn options in which it is possible to place photographs, similar to a memory album, or plant a tree using biodegradable urns that serve as compost. There are even options to always keep the pet close to the heart through charms or bracelets that children can use. Involving them to participate in this process can help them deal better with death, preferably with the support of a specialist in the field.

Accepting the death of our companion animal (whatever its species) is undoubtedly one of the most difficult tasks we face, however, when handled correctly, the loss can be a valuable opportunity to say goodbye to that being that accompanied us during a journey of our lives, and will undoubtedly leave a mark on our hearts.

CEDIM @ WANTED DESIGN 2023

THE MONTERREY CENTER FOR HIGHER DESIGN STUDIES (CEDIM) PARTICIPATED IN WANTED DESIGN, ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING DESIGN EXHIBITIONS IN THE WORLD, WHICH TOOK PLACE LAST MAY.

CEDIM exhibited five unique pieces created by outstanding students who combined different materials and manufacturing processes.

Four of these pieces are furniture that combines laminated wood and porcelain, using the molded plywood process. This process involves creating sheets of wood into specific shapes through the use of presses. Subsequently, they are joined with high-strength adhesives and given a finish. This manufacturing method allows designers to create unique and elegant curved furniture pieces that would be difficult or impossible to achieve with other manufacturing methods.

The fifth piece is a unique lamp that is inspired by the sounds of music. This functional art piece has been created using salvaged bronze drum cymbals. The resulting lamp is a harmonious combination of artistic and functional elements that will attract the attention of any viewer.

Each of the exhibited pieces has been created by the talented students of CEDIM’s degree in Industrial Design and Product Development, who have been guided at all times by experts and professors in materials and manufacturing techniques.

During the design process, the students have carried out rigorous research and experimentation, resulting in pieces carefully designed to highlight the qualities and potential of the materials, achieving a harmonious and elegant combination that reflects the vision and commitment of CEDIM with excellence and innovation in design.
