Nambucca River/Warrell Creek ramp and some riverside parks that offer some great platforms to fish from.

What is it? A large estuary and creek system with lots of options to fish from both the boat or bank.

What fish should I target?

Where is it? 35 minutes drive South of Coffs Harbour you’ll find great access to the River from Nambucca, and another 10 minutes further to access at Macksville.

What’s there? The Nambucca River is a huge system full or sand flats, rock walls, oyster leases and endless natural fish habitat. The ‘Vee Wall’ right near the mouth of the river is great for some easy access land based fishing. Further up the river at Macksville there is a good boat

Blackfish and Bream along the rock walls as well as tailor near the Rivers large mouth. Flathead and Whiting around the flats at the mouth of Warrell Creek.

What bait should I use? Live Nippers are the go to here, but sand worm, prawns or cut pilchard are all great as well.

For the kids

What lures are best? Try some soft vibes to cover large areas of water around sand flats and drop offs, smaller grubs, paddle tail or shrimp imitations along any of the many rock walls should also fool plenty of Bream.

Best time to fish? Good options all year round here, excellent for Winter Bream.

What dream fish might I catch? Big Bream can be found along the rock walls all year but especially during the cooler months, and there are some big Jewfish here too.

Look for the bay on Riverside Drive, a great calm spot to swim with the kids or fish the open river near by, with a playground as well.
