Grace’s story:
Through the storm
After she suffered traumatic brain injury following a fall, Grace’s mother needed full-time care. She was unable to move, eat, or bathe without help, and could communicate only through blinking and limited eye and hand movements. Grace, her brother, and father decided not to send her to a nursing home, and have put their lives on hold to care for her.

t first, I kept asking, “Why?” I wrestled constantly with God for three years, asking questions like, “Why did this

have to happen? Why didn’t You intervene?” Whenever I saw mothers and daughters going out together, I would ask God, “Why can’t I have the same? Mum is a loving, godly Christian. She loves You, she loves her family, and has brought us up in the fear and knowledge of the Lord. Why is she suffering?” After three years or so, however, I slowly began to accept the situation. I hadn’t received any answers to my questions, but that didn’t seem to matter anymore. I started to see how God had been with us all this while. “Perhaps He is teaching
