Poppies & Poppyfields Nursery
Poppies Outstanding! We are absolutely thrilled to say we have, once again, achieved ‘Outstanding’ at Poppies Nursery and After School Club! The inspector commented on staff being “extremely knowledgeable about their profession. They stated that “The staff team carefully considers how children's skills can be used elsewhere in their lives. Their extremely strong knowledge of child development and meticulous planning of the curriculum means that children build on what they already know and can do. This helps children to deeply embed learning. Staff carefully observe and intervene at the right moments, with high-quality interactions, to support children's thinking skills.” They also said “Leaders are highly qualified and passionate about the excellent service they provide for children. They proactively instil and share practice with staff, emanating the dedication and desire to give children the best start in their education. Leaders promote staff well-being which means staff support children's welfare to a high level.’ I would like to thank our families for their continued support, our staff who are so dedicated to their roles and our children who make each day so special with their ideas, their conversations, their play, their enthusiasm, and their achievements. Joanne x Established 2010 Fully insured & DBS checked Poppyfields Loving care guaranteed! Our sister group, also ‘Outstanding’ in our October 2021 Ofsted Inspection, has enjoyed exploring artists this month. They have recreated Van Gough’s ‘Sunflowers’, Monet’s ‘Waterlilies’ and painted beautiful landscapes. Both Poppies and Poppyfields have enjoyed watching our caterpillars turn into Call Liz: 07894 561765 chrysalis’ then emerge as ‘painted lady’ butterflies, producing lovely group www.smileypets.co.uk collages of them. Ideas for families to enjoy at home at home could be to go on a bug hunt, searching for bugs and butterflies, creating symmetry butterflies by folding paper in half and then adding paint to one half then closing the paper to create a print. Our breakfast and after school children have also been painting landscapes, enjoying drama and puppetry, building dens, and going on bug hunts. We have had great fun over the summer holidays with our themed weeks! Pirates, circus, sports, and animals have all been enjoyed. Our beautiful outdoor space, with woodland and Spinney provide lovely opportunities for exploring, running, and relaxing in nature. Children also brought their own ideas into Summer Camp as we feel the holidays are ‘their’ time to have fun in ways that are special to them.
Finally, goodbye and very best wishes to our children who are moving on to new schools. We have loved sharing your journey and are always here if you want to pop back for a visit!
