According to the aim the following tasks were set: 1. To describe the options to achieve post-coronary angiography haemostasis. 2. To describe the use of FemoStop device to close the arterial access site after coronary angiography. 3. To describe the role of a nurse after coronary angiography procedure to avoid complications. In this study, the author describes and analyses the importance of nursing to achieve haemostasis and patient recovery. Research is theoretical, a descriptive review of professional literature relevant to the topic. Literature is comprised of 38 studies, 7 in Estonian and 31 in English. According to the study heart and vascular diseases are the main cause of death in the world and Estonia. Cardiac interventional procedures are performed at an increasing rate. The aim of the percutaneous coronary intervention procedure is to restore the myocardial blood supply after which it is important to achieve haemostasis and decrease the risk of complications. One of the most often used instruments to achieve haemostasis is FemoStop whose transparent inflatable dome allows precise application and pressure.
