In conclusion, the study found that microbial keratitis and other adverse events occur in children with a frequency comparable to those seen in adults using the same type of lens. Early use of LACs should therefore be considered as a viable option in cases where there are no prior subjective or objective contraindications to their use.
Concludendo, lo studio ha evidenziato come, nei bambini, si verifichino cheratiti microbiche e altri eventi avversi con modalità e frequenza paragonabili a quelle rilevate negli adulti che usano lo stesso tipo di lenti. L’uso precoce delle LAC dovrebbe essere quindi considerato come opzione nei casi in cui non vi siano a priori controindicazioni, soggettive ed oggettive, al loro impiego.
