Stick & Puck

Quilting Crowd

Stick and Puck and Ring is a drop-in program available for kids ages 5-7yrs, 8-10yrs and youth aged 11-13yrs and 14-17yrs, who want to work on their skills while having fun in a non-competitive environment. For added safety, CWK recommends that players wear full equipment. All players must wear at minimum, their own helmet with full cage/shield, skates, gloves, and stick. Pucks and Rings are provided and these sessions are supervised by a CWK Sport Attendant.

Sculpture 7-14yrs

This course is a combination of sculpture and ceramic techniques. Students will create animal and human sculptures using air-drying clay and ceramic vases/ plates using oven baked clay. Are you 65 or older? Wanting to get more physically active? Then ActivAge is for you. This fun and social program will get you moving in a relaxed and inviting class environment with like minded people. You have two different program options to choose from: Option 1 focuses on improving activities of daily living, strengthening muscles used day-to-day; Option 2 focuses on exercises that will enable you to become more involved with other activity programs or sports. Each option runs once a week for one hour over twelve sessions, and is scheduled during the first three months of the Choose to Move program. Stage Acting for Adults

This class is offered in partnership with Crossing Creek Community Theatre - West Kelowna’s new amateur theatre company. Artistic Director Leanne Reimer will teach participants to use mind, body and voice to bring characters and stories to life. No experience required - all skill levels welcome. Students will have an opportunity to audition and/or volunteer for the Winter production set for February, 2021. LOCATION: Westbank Lions Community Centre

This course will focus on human, animal and landscape subject matter. Students will study human body proportions, facial features, hand and feet structure, as well as animal proportions. One-point and two-point perspective will be explored in landscape drawing and painting. Participants will be using pencil crayons, watercolors and acrylic painting on canvas. All art supplies are included.

All levels and ages of quilters are welcome to join us. Learn from other quilters as there is always someone to help you out, and bounce ideas off of. Bring all your “stuff”, great attitude and your lunch. Group may also have some fun projects to expand your quilting knowledge.

Boomer Fit 50yrs +

This 60-minute class for older adults 50+, is safe and effective, combining cardio, strength, balance and flexibility. Focusing on all major muscle groups, this program is designed to build on your overall body conditioning and strength, and to challenge you, but also to work within your own limits while having fun!
