Special Hockey-Wild Cats 5yrs +

Special hockey is an ice hockey program for those children with mental challenges such as Down Syndrome, Autism or other developmental delay. The program is open to any player aged five years or older, male or female, who is physically able to play but would be unable to participate in any other organized program. Full equipment is required but don’t let that discourage you as they can work on that with you. Participants are required to be able to walk unassisted and provide a doctor’s note giving permission to them to participate prior to the program starting. NO CLASS OCT 12, NOV 9, DEC 21 AND 28, JAN 4 AND FEB 15.

It’s a program for those with mobility challenges or special needs to experience the thrill of being out on the ice. For FUN, we supply balls, hockey sticks, hula hoops and arrange activities to encourage participation. Caregivers or support workers are free of charge. Wheelchairs (with clean wheels) are allowed on the ice. Skates, ice cleats and helmets will be provided if you don’t have your own. LOCATION: Jim Lind Arena
