RubyBOUTIQUE Lou E-Commerce in the Hinterland Operating from the hinterland, Ruby Lou Boutique is a local online fashion store, servicing the needs of women looking for that personalised online shopping experience. Owner Amber Walker, an experienced retail business woman explains how it was never her intention to own an e-commerce store, “life just progressed that way”, we uncovered what a wonderful opportunity that turned out to be.

“After 11 great years of owning a shop front in Tamborine Mountain, I was ready for a change. I had loved seeing my customers on a daily basis, however manning a shop and juggling two young daughters, I was ready for that change. My girls absolutely love watching me work from home and will often help process orders and post packages, it’s been such a great move in terms of our work life balance.”

With statistics reporting an explosion of growth for e-commerce, it looks like it was also the right commercial move to make for this young Mum and entrepreneur.

“However you want to look at it, a lot of hard work goes into running any business, especially an on-line business, but for me it’s about being consistent in the type of product you provide while also providing a high level of interactive service. Ruby Lou Boutique consistently offers fun easy to wear Bohemian fashion... from timeless classic staples to pastel floral prints to bold statement pieces, from the petite to the plus sizes, we have something for all women. On the topic of customer service, I think it’s important to give online customers the same retail experience but from the convenience of their own homes. I have built up wonderful relationships, while shopping on our website my customers know they can contact me via the live chat box or send a message on social media. Quality garments, good prices and 5-star service, it’s not really rocket science.”
