text by Catia Acquesta You must always chase your dreams, even if they run fast. If you believe it, in the end, you manage to reach them. The story of Sir Vincenzo Andronaco is proof of this. At 18 he decided to escape from his homeland, Sicily, leaving behind the monotony of a provincial town, Alì, in the province of Messina, in search of new adventures. It was the year 1970 when, on a January night, Vincenzo left his village by the sea, about twenty minutes away from Taormina. Secretly, he prepared some clothes, just enough to face the minus twenty-five degrees that awaited him at his destination, and on the morning of January 16, armed with strength and courage, he left for Hamburg. The sea separates, but it does not distance... His hunger for a success that is difficult to achieve, his love for his children and his pain for the short time he could dedicate to them, his tenacity, perseverance, ingenuity and honesty, his desire, his strong will, and his amazement for beauty – something that, if you have it, remains inside you like the desire to never give up, even when everything and everyone seems against you
i sogni vanno sempre inseguiti, anche se corrono veloci. se ci credi, alla fine, riesci ad afferrarli. La storia del Cavaliere vincenzo andronaco ne è la prova. a 18 anni decise di scappare dalla sua terra, la sicilia, lasciandosi alle spalle la monotonia di un paese di provincia, alì, in provincia di Messina, in cerca di nuove avventure. Correva l’anno 1970 quando, in una notte di gennaio, vincenzo lasciò il suo paese sul mare, a circa venti minuti da taormina. di nascosto dai suoi preparò qualche vestito, giusto il necessario per affrontare i meno venticinque gradi che lo aspettavano a destinazione, e la mattina del 16 gennaio, armato di forza e coraggio, partì per amburgo. il mare separa, ma non divide… La fame di un successo difficile da raggiungere, la gioia dei figli e il dolore per il poco tempo dedicato loro, la tenacia, la perseveranza, l’ingegno e l’onestà, la voglia, il riscatto e lo stupore per le cose belle che, se ce l’hai, è dentro di te come la voglia di non mollare mai, anche quando tutto e tutti sembrano contro di te, hanno fatto del Cavalier andronaco tutto ciò che oggi è diventato.
