An unparalleled fashion designer and a forerunner of trends to come, Pierre Cardin died on December 29th last year in Paris. Born in 1922 in the Treviso area, his original name was Pietro. Among all the stylists of Italian origin who rose to fame in France, he was the one who best personified the mix between Italian creativity and French elegance, rising to prominence at the helm of a business group that spanned the restaurant and hotel world and acquired Chez Maxime in 1981.
