Mens Association & Care Group I have been privileged to work with all the great volunteers in the Men’s Association again this year. As in the past, we have run a roster of four teams during the school term and each team has been well represented with an average of eight members turning up on Sunday mornings, with the best result being sixteen dads presenting for work When I commenced this report I thought, “we haven’t really done that much this year” but how wrong I was. With an eager work force we have been able to complete the usual tasks around the college, such as mowing the grounds, cleaning lockers, weeding flower beds, general cleanup of the quadrangle, setup and pack up for exams, also school assembly setups. Functions such as the Artisan Market, held in the college gym, take a special effort from two working bee teams for all the afterhours work involved. During the year we also helped Mrs Kelly Jenkins with her sustainability initiative of labeling all the bins at the college to assist with the collection of comingled and general waste.

“When I commenced to write this report I thought, we haven’t really done that much this year. But how wrong I was” - Pierre Belluzzo

On behalf of the Team Captains David Cogan, Rohan Crowe, Des Nolan and Danny Sheedy, we would like to thank all our members for a job well done and hope to see you all back next year to continue the great work maintaining the college grounds. I would also like to thank Des Nolan, Travis Smith and Peter Leorke, who volunteered to run the working bees when I was unable to attend.

I would like to invite all the college fathers to consider joining us on the working bees and be rewarded with good company, a steak or snag with a cold beer after a pleasant Sunday morning, come hail or shine. Setting up the gym for assembly Pierre Belluzzo - Property Manager

CARE GROUP Our Care Group was formed to assist families during times of crisis. Each year this group has done wonderful work supporting those in our community when they are most in need. Last year was an extremely sad year for our College with a number of parents and staff illness and bereavements. We have been able to assist approximately 8 families throughout the year, with 40-50 meals supplied. The families were most appreciative of the support. A number of these families have received ongoing help to ensure there is a meal ready for their family as they cope with complex and long term illness. We sincerely thank our wonderful band of volunteer cooks / helpers who have prepared and provided many meals for others throughout 2014. We wish all our families good health, love and happiness. Anne Ross & Zoe Callahan - Care Group Coordinators We would like to acknowledge the work of our coordinators Anne Ross and Zoe Callahan and their band of helpers who provided many meals during the course of 2014. This year we welcomed Zoe Callahan to our team and we farewell Anne Ross. After 6 years Anne is stepping down from her coordinators role with her youngest son Ciaran completing Year 12 this year. Before that Anne has helped as a volunteer cooking meals, making it 11 years of involvement in a very real way. We have been fortunate to have Anne on board as she has been a driving force behind our Care Group, while her sons, Nicholas (2010) and Ben (2008) attended St Joseph’s. Anne’s commitment to the SJC community has been wonderful, and the compassion and support she has given to all our families along the way, has been outstanding. We would like to thank Anne for being an important part of the St Joseph’s College Care Group and extend every good wish to Anne, Tony and their family for the future. Thank you so much for your support, Paul Tobias, Principal
