a version anglaise de l’album illustré Le P’tit Train du Nord, qui connait un vif succès dans les Laurentides depuis un an, sera lancée virtuellement le samedi 1er août par les éditions du Grand Élan. Les Laurentides à travers l’histoire du train Écrit et illustré par Isabelle Charbonneau, Le P’tit Train du Nord est un livre pour petits et grands qui invite le lecteur à une balade à travers les magnifiques Laurentides, de MontLaurier à Saint-Jérôme. Lors du trajet, le train fait escale dans chaque gare et accueille les animaux de la région pour y vivre toute une aventure. Coloré et ludique, ce livre permet de découvrir les Laurentides, sa faune et son patrimoine. Écrit comme une chanson, la musicalité du texte est l’un des points forts de l’ouvrage qui se savoure sans modération.
The Little Train of the North Mille copies du P’tit train du Nord se sont écoulées en un an. Un intérêt s’est fait grandement ressentir au sein du public anglophone attiré par la couverture et son titre. Pour répondre à cette demande, une adaptation anglaise, réalisée par Faith J. Cormier, est sortie en juin. Tout comme la version française, les rimes sont présentes pour respecter la musicalité initiale. La version francophone est disponible dans toutes les librairies de la région. De son côté, la version anglophone est disponible depuis la mi-juin chez Carpe Diem à Mont-Tremblant. n English version of the illustrated book Le P’tit Train du Nord, which has been selling nicely in French for the past year, will be launched virtually on Saturday, August 1, by publishing house les Éditions du Grand Élan. The Laurentians through the story of the train Written and illustrated by Isabelle Charbonneau, Le P’tit Train du Nord, a book for both young and old, invites the reader on a jaunt through the beautiful Laurentian Mountains, from Mont-Laurier to Saint-Jérôme. During the trip the train stops in every station and invites the animals of the region to come experience a great adventure. Brightly coloured and full of fun, the book facilitates discovery of the Laurentians, its wildlife and heritage. The text is written like a song, and its musicality is one
of the strengths of the work that can be fully enjoyed – particularly when read aloud. The Little Train of the North One thousand copies of the P’tit train du Nord sold in a year. English-speaking people, attracted by its cover and title, showed great interest. To respond to the demand, an English adaptation, done by Faith J Cormier, was released in June. As in the French version, rhymes are used to respect the musicality of the original. The French-language version is available in all the local bookstores. The English version has been available since mid-June from Carpe Diem in Mont-Tremblant.
