2. The importance of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling - Paper Mache Activity This Papier-Mache session focused on the event which occurred on the 22nd September 2020 where 16 turtle eggs successfully hatched at Ghadira Bay. Firstly, we screened a video which was published by ERA – Environment and Resources showing how the event unfolded. Afterwards, there was a discussion which highlighted the importance of keeping the natural habitat of these creatures as intact as possible since turtles tend to lay eggs more frequently in such environments. An informative and educational quiz with a turtle theme also took place. The participants watched a papier-mache tutorial which guided them on how to create a turtle craft out of old newspapers which were provided to them. The participants’ work was added to a collection of turtle crafts and eventually artistically installed in all blue flag beaches around Malta as part of a campaign against the littering of cigarette buds in beaches.
