2021 Sub Club Annual Report

JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE Season 2021 started with such hope after a COVID-19 effected 2020 season. Unfortunately, we fell victim yet again to COVID-19 and in June the season would come to an abrupt stop.

With 21 teams representing Mounties in 2021 we kicked off with optimism that we would gain back a little of the momentum we had lost with the 2020 postponement. It was a great result to have so many of the kids came back and play footy for Mounties to show the strong community spirit within the region. Seven of our teams played in the under 6s, 7s and 8s where no competition points are recorded. These teams were the highlight each Saturday morning down at the Complex. Running around living out their dreams with parents cheering on, there was no better sight. Five teams from 9s through to 12s were all very competitive with our 9s running 2nd, 10s running 2nd, 11-1s running 5th, 11-2s undefeated in 1st and 12s running 7th at the stoppage of the competition. Our international teams were also looking strong with our 13s in 5th position, 14s in 1st, 15s in 9th, 18s in 2nd and our 23s in 3rd. Our Girls pathway continues to thrive with our 16s Girls in 6th and our 18s in 3rd position in very strong NSW Conference Competitions. Our Try Time program for people with special needs proved a success again with a junior and senior team representing Mounties. Unfortunately they were only to be given two

games for the season with a Home Gala day set aside for August not going ahead. The club has a good connection with our annual Junior Academy Night in May a resounding success followed by the High-Performance Academy 6-week program held in May and June providing coaching assistance to our next generation leading players and coaches.

It was not how we would have liked to finish but would like to say a huge thankyou to all the Coaches, Managers, Trainers, Parents, Families and Friends for their continued support. Without you guys we cannot provide a fun environment for the kids to play at this great club.

I would like to personally thank and acknowledge Terri Speechley for all her continued hard work as Secretary of the Junior Club. She goes above and beyond to ensure that all the kids get to play footy each week. We are very lucky to have you! We look forward to season 2022!
