BUDGEWOI NETBALL CLUB With a delayed start thanks to Covid, our condensed 2020 season kicked off on the 18th July with tight restrictions.
A few months prior you wouldn’t have thought it was possible but every week our 127 members navigated the fences at Baker Park while our parents and supporters cheered on from a safe distance. As a local community club, netball for us has always been about providing a safe and positive environment for girls and ladies to have fun with friends and enjoy sport but getting a few wins along the way isn’t too bad either. Of our 14 teams (10 of which were competitive) we had 7 teams make the finals series including all four of our senior teams! Special mention to our Cadet 2 team, Kestrels who ended the season undefeated Minor and Major Premiers. Fast forward to 2021 and our current season started with a bang! 2021 marks 60 years of netball for Wyong District Netball Association and we were proud to return for our 48th year. Our club fielded 15 teams this year ranging from
u7s all the way to Division 11. We managed to get in an unobstructed 9 rounds of the season before Covid reared its head and put us on an extended mid-season break. Prior to the break we saw some very impressive results with 8 of our 12 competition teams in potential finals positions. One stand out team so far has been our u10 Orioles who since forming last year, having never played netball before, are continuing their undefeated run from 2020 and looking good to be premiers in their first year of competition! Looking forward to the back half of the season and cannot wait until we can step foot on court again!
