‘The Garden of Words’ ‘The Garden of Words’ is the project I brought poetry I fell in love with since the first time to express in the form of pictures. I always have time to spend with many different kinds of art, and writing is the other kind that I’m interested in and spend most time with it, besides photography. For me, poetry is composed of simple language that is full of power beneath it, and it’s joined together as a thick and thin, but pretty and touched poetry. I would like to be the photographer who express pretty and touch pictures, like poetry does too. I chose to present 3 poetries for the Garden of Words project. The first one is “Then love shook my heart like the wind that falls on oaks in the mountains.” by ancient Greek poet, Sappho. Her poetry usually mentions about homosexual love, so I choose to portray this with the borderless love. The next poetry is about legend of greek gods, “I love you as Icarus loved the sun — too close, too much.” This features the story about Icarus who was imprisoned in the ocean prison, trying to escape with his feather wings. When he found his freedom, he fell in love with the sun, which burnt his wings, so Icarus fell to the ground at the end. The last poetry is “She is gem, let her shine.” It’s a short but catchy poetry that attracted people since the first read. To cut or polish any gem takes time and many procedures to be done, as same as being human — it takes time and many happenings in life to get growing. These picked 3 poetries are differently beautiful due to time and uniqueness in language, but the connection between them are perspective, emotion, and imagination that influence me to interpret in the way within the project ‘The Garden of Words’.
ผลงานชุด “The Garden of Words” เป็นการน�ำบทกวีที่ฉันถูกอกถูกใจกันตั้งแต่แรกอ่านมาถ่ายทอดเป็นภาพถ่ายในแบบฉบับของตัวเอง ฉันมักจะมีโอกาสได้คลุกคลีอยู่กับศิลปะหลากหลายแขนง แต่งานเขียนมักจะเป็นอีกหนึ่งงานศิลปะที่ฉันให้ความสนใจและใช้เวลากับมันมากที่สุด รองจากการถ่ายภาพส�ำหรับฉันบทกวีเป็นภาษาสามัญที่เรียบง่ายแต่เปี่ยมไปด้วยพลังภายใต้ค�ำพูดที่ถูกหยิบมาร้อยเรียงนั้นคุกรุ่นไปด้วยความคิด สร้างสรรค์ผสมผสานด้วยอารมณ์ทั้งหมดนั้นถูกมัดรวมเข้าด้วยกันเป็นเปลือกนอกที่ทั้งบอบบางและหยาบกระด้างในเวลาเดียวกันของบทกวี เรียบง่าย สวยงาม แต่สามารถสัมผัสเข้าถึงจิตใจความรู้สึกของผู้อ่าน ฉันเองก็อยากจะเป็นช่างภาพที่ถ่ายทอดผลงานที่สวยงามแต่สามารถจับใจผู้คนได้ราวกับบทกวี ภายใน The Garden of Words ฉันเลือกจะ ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวจาก 3 บทกวี บทกวีแรกได้แก่ “Then love shook my heart like the wind that falls on oaks in the mountains.” ของกวีหญิงจากยุคกรีกโบราณอย่าง Sappho ความพิเศษของ Sappho ก็คือบทกวีของเธอจะกล่าวถึงอารมณ์รักในเพศเดียวกันฉันจึงถ่ายทอด บทกวีนี้ด้วยความงามของรักที่ไร้ข้อจ�ำกัด ต่อมาเป็นบทกวีที่ถ่ายถอดเกี่ยวกับต�ำนานเทพเจ้ากรีก “I love you as Icarus love the sun, too close too much.” เรื่องราวของ Icarus ผู้ถูกขังไว้ที่คุกกลางทะเล พยายามหลบหนีด้วยปีกที่สร้างจากขนนกของเขาแต่เมื่อได้ค้นพบกับ อิสระเกิดได้ตกหลุมรักกับพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นมาด้วยความร้อนของมันจึงท�ำให้ปีกของเขามอดไหม้และร่วงหล่นลงมา ผลงานสุดท้ายได้แก่ “She is gem, Let her shine.” บทกวีที่ทั้งสั้นและห้วนแต่ครั้งแรกที่ได้อ่านมันนั้นกลับสามารถจับใจผู้อ่านได้ การเจียระไนพลอย หรืออัญมณีสักเม็ดนั้น มีหลากหลายขั้นตอนไม่ว่าจะเป็นการเจียรด้วยการบีบอัด ลนด้วยไฟ และล้างด้วยน�้ำกรด เช่นเดียวกับมนุษย์ที่กว่าจะเติบโตได้อย่างงดงามนั้น ต้องผ่านหลากหลายเรื่องราว ผลงานเขียนทั้ง 3 ฉันได้หยิบมานั้นมีความงามที่แตกต่างกันด้วยยุคสมัยและเอกลักษณ์ของภาษาแต่สิ่งที่จะเชื่อมโยงบทกวีเหล่านั้นเข้าด้วยกัน ก็คือมุมมอง ความรู้สึก และจินตนาการซึ่งจะน�ำมาตีความเล่าใหม่ด้วยภาษาภาพของฉันในชื่อ “The Garden of Words”
