Mast The Magazine
The inception and growth of Mast The Magazine, initially conceived as a supplement to Radio Mast FM in 2009. The magazine's early emphasis on fostering connections within South Asian communities in the South West of England and subsequent expansion to encompass diverse ethnic communities in 2010 underscores a dedication to inclusivity and community engagement. Magazines like Mast play a vital role in offering a stage for diverse voices and perspectives, facilitating cultural exchange, and maintaining a sense of connection within communities. The decision to broaden its scope in 2010 reflects a forward-thinking approach to embrace and celebrate the richness of various ethnic backgrounds. The introduction of the MTM Awards in 2012 signifies a commitment to acknowledging and honouring contributions from within these diverse communities. Furthermore, by maintaining a free, full-colour publication available both in print and online, Mast ensures accessibility, enabling a wider audience to connect with its content. Being the sole Asian, Black & Ethnic publication in the South West of England and South Wales positions Mast as a significant contributor to representing and unifying these communities. The collaborative support from local businesses and organizations further emphasizes the importance of community engagement in the magazine's journey. The regular quarterly publications, complemented by two ceremonial publications each year, provide a consistent and celebratory platform for information, inspiration, and cultural exchange.
