Rediteljica filma Marta Smerechynska nakon šest godina razdvojenosti stupa u kontakt sa svojom sestrom Nastijom. Snima je u njenom novom domu – samostanu Hristovih nevjesti u zapadnoj Ukrajini. Martin odnos sa sestrom, koja se odrekla svjetovnih dobara kako bi prigrlila život u izolovanom samostanu, odražava odnos drugih porodica i njihovih kćeri koje žive u zatvorenoj vjerskoj zajednici. Za razliku od situacija u kojima razgovara sa svojom sestrom, Marta u razgovorima sa drugim opaticama – koje je doživljavaju kao tačku kontakta sa vlastitom prošlošću – slobodno govori o svojim emocijama. Film propituje njihov osjećaj gubitka, nerazumijevanje i osude. Director Marta Smerechynska approaches her sister Nastia after six years of silence. She films Nastia’s life in a new home – a convent of the Brides of Christ located in Western Ukraine. Marta’s relationship with Nastia, who has renounced all her human possessions to become a part of this isolated world, reflects the experience of other families and their daughters inside the closed religious community. Unlike when she is talking to her sister, Smerechynska manages to discuss her emotions and feelings freely with nuns, who see her as a point of connection to their past.
The film explores their loss, misunderstandings, and judgments.

Sredovječni par Anikó i Laci žive u jednom malom mađarskom gradu. Prije nego što su 2013. na lutriji osvojili dva miliona eura, živjeli su u očajnim uslovima. Ipak, u dubokoj neimaštini, uspijevali su voditi stabilan život i često su sanjali o odmoru kraj mora. Nakon dobitka na lutriji, s rukom u ruci, i istinski zahvalni, prepustili su se, prema njihovom mišljenju, luksuznom životu. Za Laci to podrazumijeva "privilegiju nečinjenja", a za Anikó "privilegiju činjenja". Dok nastoje ostvariti materijalnu sreću, njihov odnos se mijenja. Anikó and Laci are a middle-aged couple living in a small town in Hungary. Before winning two million euros in 2013, their circumstances were miserable. Still, they managed stability, living in deep poverty, often dreaming of a holiday by the sea. Once they hit the jackpot, hand in hand, truly full of gratitude, the couple dove into a life of what they considered luxury. For Laci, this means the “privilege of not doing,” while for Anikó this means the “power of doing.” On their way to realising material happiness, their relationship has changed.

Peli i Nina pripadnici su tradicionalne romske zajednice koji su stupili u ugovoreni brak, a potom dobili žensko dijete. Međutim, prema lokalnom običaju, njih dvoje mogu ostati u braku samo ukoliko dobiju muško dijete koje će naslijediti porodični kalež (tahtai). Dok oni žive pod velikim pritiskom i neprekidno odlaze na testove plodnosti i ultrazvučne preglede, članovi njihovih porodica raspravljaju se oko prava na kalež koji je Pelijev otac povjerio Nininoj porodici kada su ugovorili brak. zbog toga pod ogromnim pritiskom, ali niko ne pokazuje suosjećanje zbog svega kroz što ona prolazi. Dok nestrpljivo čekamo rješenje spora, film nas poziva da razmišljamo o izdržljivosti žena u društvu kojim dominiraju muškarci. Peli and Nina are a couple from a traditional Roma community who were married by arrangement and are parents to a little girl. However, local custom posits that a marital union can only endure if the couple conceive a boy who can later inherit the family’s badge – the chalice (tahtai). While they live under tremendous strain and keep undergoing fertility and ultrasound checks, their respective families are disputing their rights to the chalice pledged by Peli’s father to Nina’s family when they arranged the couple’s match. This puts Nina under considerable pressure, but nobody around her is sympathetic to her plight. As we impatiently await the resolution of the conflict, the film invites us to reflect on women’s resilience in a male-dominated society.

Život u Ukrajini podijeljen je na dva perioda – prije i poslije rata. U svenarodnom pokretu otpora, svi građani pokušavaju biti korisni. Ukrajinci mijenjaju profesiju kako bi odgovorili na ratne potrebe. Kipari u svojim umjetničkim radionicama prave protutenkovske prepreke. Tihe figure slavnih Ukrajinaca, anđela, Kozaka i brojni primjerci Isusa Krista, baš poput vojske od terakote, zamrznuti su u iščekivanju novih kreacija. Ukrainian reality is divided into two periods – before and after the war. In the nationwide resistance, every citizen tries to be helpful. Ukrainians change professions and adapt to wartime. Sculptors fabricate anti-tank obstacles in their workshops. Just like the Terracotta Army, silent figures of Ukrainian personalities, angels, Cossacks, and copies of Jesus Christ freeze in anticipation of new creations..
