Down to Earth David Soin Tappeser is a German-born, London and New-Delhibased drummer, composer and performance artist. His practice primarily revolves around experimentation and improvisation. Borrowing from jazz, new music and various musical and percussive traditions he got to know during his extensive travels in India, Nepal and Mexico, Soin Tappeser’s work is shaped by notions of internal pulsation, ideas of phase and fragmentation as well as thoughts concerning the manipulation of time and time-perception through music. He considers music a means of unfiltered, personal expression and play, as something mysterious and whimsical. For “Down to Earth”, Soin Tappeser presents the collaborative work “Boatness” (2020) together with Himali Singh Soin.
