The house was part of renovations undertaken in 2018 which also transformed a construction at the top of the property into a restaurant and wine bar. The food crafted by consulting chef Júlio Pereira is built on the concept of slow cooking. There are several meat and fish options, as well as entrees, desserts and vegetarian dishes. Beyond food, the restaurant also offers a wine menu highlighting a wide variety of Madeiran table wines. It is possible to taste them, paired with cheese and sausages. And also on offer are a variety of rum drinks, a beverage whose history in Madeira is longer than that of wine. Quinta das Vinhas privileges a family brand, William Hinton, the name chosen to pay tribute to the patriarch from whom the current owners are descended. Leisure is boosted with two pools, or a walk around the gardens and vineyards. The surrounding quiet invites relaxation and breakfast, at the main house patio is set to the singing of birds. The fragrances of many a herb and the other plants in the gardens stand out everywhere. In spite of the rural atmosphere and the stillness that surrounds the estate, wi-fi is available and the sea is but 10 minutes away. Also at a distance of 10 minutes is the town of Calheta. Grape production takes up part of the estate's 30 thousand square metres. For many years, the land was used as an experimental vineyard rented by the Madeira Wine Institute. That partnership left behind over 70 grape varieties used to both make wine and be served as fruit. From 2018 onward, the family who owned the estate took direct control of the vineyards, beginning a process of conversion toward organic agriculture. Two years later, in 2020, a partnership with Justino's Madeira began. The partnership bore the first casks of the Madeira Quinta das Vinhas wine, which will now be aged for some years before it is released to market. 쐽

O lazer é reforçado com duas piscinas, ou um passeio pelos jardins e pelas vinhas. A tranquilidade envolvente convida ao descanso e o pequeno-almoço, no pátio da casa-mãe é acompanhado pelo cantar dos pássaros. Por todo o lado predominam os aromas das muitas ervas aromáticas e outras plantas que povoam os jardins. Apesar do ambiente rural e da quietude que rodeia a propriedade a Internet está disponível e o mar está a cerca de 10 minutos. A vila da Calheta está também a 10 minutos.

A produção de uvas ocupa grande parte dos 30 mil metros quadrados da propriedade. O terreno foi durante vários anos uma vinha experimental arrendada pelo Instituto do Vinho da Madeira. Dessa parceria ficou a herança de mais de 70 castas, quer de uvas para vinificação, que de uvas de mesa. A partir de 2018 a família proprietária passou a gerir diretamente as vinhas, iniciando um processo de conversão para produção biológica. Dois anos depois, em 2020, teve início uma parceria com a empresa Justino’s Madeira. Foram produzidas as primeiras barricas de vinho Madeira Quinta das Vinhas, que irá agora envelhecer durante alguns anos, antes de ser comercializado. 쐽
