HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE LEVEL 3 Develop your knowledge and skills to work in a range of health and social care settings as well as widen your practical skills in order to support you into higher education or employment.
This course prepares you to work in care and/or health related careers. It provides the knowledge, skills and understanding required for working in a caring environment, and gives the opportunity for care workers to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 vocationally specific qualification. In addition the course provides the opportunity for progression to university to study professional courses such as nursing, midwifery, social work, residential care management, and housing and probation service. You are appointed a Personal Tutor for the duration of the course

• Health, Social Care & Childhood Studies Level 2
Topics you will cover include: • Human Lifespan Development • Working in Health & Social Care • Anatomy & Physiology for Health & Social Care • Meeting Individual Care & Support Needs • Promoting Public Health • Work Experience in Health & Social Care In addition five specialist units will be studied. Work experience is also an important feature of this course and a minimum of 200 hours relevant vocational practice is built into the course.
Entry Requirements • Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, maths and preferably a science • Successful interview and initial assessment • It would be beneficial to have completed work experience or a voluntary placement with children aged birth to five.
