SPORT - TNS FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL 3 This course gives you the opportunity to gain a valuable qualification, equivalent to three A Levels, as well as be part of The New Saints Football Club Scholarship.
The Extended Diploma in Sport is delivered over two years at the Oswestry Campus. This course has been developed to provide you with the opportunity to gain detailed academic knowledge and understanding of Sport and the related areas of exercise, science and performance. It is made up of 180 credits over two years, with units being valued at either five or ten credits, each of which is assessed by a range of methods including written assessments, role play, presentations and practical activities. If you achieve 180 credits you will be awarded the full Extended Diploma which will give you access to university. In terms of the scholarship, this is delivered by our partners, The New Saints Football Club. You will undertake three training sessions per week with fully-qualified UEFA Coaches. College matches will take place every Wednesday and you will also have the opportunity to play for the U19s team on a Sunday. Throughout the scholarship programme you may be invited to train and take part with some TNS first team sessions depending on your level of progress.
Assessment of the College course is continuous with assignments, projects and practical work. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level, if not already achieved.
Entry Requirements • Four GCSE passes at grade C (grade 4) or above (including maths or English) • Or a merit or above in a BTEC L2 qualification • Successful interview and initial assessment • You will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm for this subject area • Football Trial with TNS.

There are a number of squads which allows students the opportunity to develop and progress.
