AGRICULTURE LEVEL 2 A ‘hands-on’ programme which provides the foundation of knowledge and practical skills needed for work in the changing world of agriculture. It incorporates essential work experience to help you progress to employment or further study.
A balance between practical and theory sessions, gives you a real insight into the everyday work within industry and here on the College farm. As well as this, there are duties where you become a member of the farm team and work with them to complete a multitude of tasks be it dairy, sheep, arable or estate work. We also go on trips and visits as well as having guest speakers who keep you up-to-date with industry changes. A work experience day is built into the course to further enhance your employability skills. 70% of the jobs in the agricultural industry involve science, engineering or technology, everything from GPS, to drones and even robots. If you’re ambitious, there is real scope to progress in this industry. This exciting and ever-changing industry needs talented, flexible people who are ready to take on a challenge. Every day is likely to be different and we need people that can problem solve and take on whatever is thrown their way.
