ANIMAL CARE LEVEL 2 This is a ‘hands-on’ course which introduces you to a range of animals and their environments. It offers excellent progression opportunities and will enable you to gain the knowledge and skills needed to work in the animal care industry.
Within taught sessions you will develop your personal knowledge which will provide an excellent foundation for practical sessions within college, and your two week voluntary work placement. Students will gain knowledge in areas such as animal health, welfare, behaviour and biology and will gain an insight into industry standards and practice through nursing, animal grooming and working within the animal sector. Trips, visits and guest speakers include the Blue Cross, Large Animal Rescue Team and careers guidance specialists.

Aged 16 –18 years There are no tuition or examination fees

Entry Requirements You must be 16 years of age and ideally have one of the following: • Four GCSE passes at grade 2/3 or above (including maths and English) • Appropriate NVQ Level 1/Level 1 Diploma • Appropriate experience/knowledge gained in a related working environment
