LAND AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT LEVEL 2 This course provides you with a range of specialist technical practical skills, and knowledge which will equip you to seek employment or further learning and training within the land and wildlife management industries.

This qualification gives you the opportunity to study a range of specialist, technical, practical skills and knowledge that build upon the core skills required for working in the countryside, such as; estate maintenance skills, population surveys, safe use of equipment and machinery with further areas of study such as land use and recreation, and pest and predator control. You can then learn additional specialist skills such as woodland habitat management, estate skills, machinery operations, countryside recreation, surveying and identification. We endeavour to work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Trips, visits and guest speakers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry. This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the land and wildlife industries or specialist further study.

City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Land & Wildlife Management

Study options may include: • Countryside Management Degree (BSc) • Countryside Conservation Degree (BSc) • Rural Enterprise and Land Management (BSc) • Marine Ecology & Conservation Foundation Science Degree • Advanced Apprenticeship in Environmental Conservation or Game & Wildlife Management Employment options may include: • Fisheries worker • Estate worker • Assistant underkeeper • Fieldwork assistant

Course Content Topics you will cover include: • Population Surveys, Ecology & Conservation • Countryside Recreation • Undertake Estate Skills • Woodland Habitat Management • Shooting Sport in the UK • Fresh Water and Wetland Management All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level. Please see page 8 for more details.

Entry Requirements • Some practical countryside experience or an interest in land and wildlife management • Be at least 16 years of age at the beginning of the course

• Level 2 Technical Certificate in Land & Wildlife Management • Four GCSE passes at grade 2/3 or above (including maths and English) or a BTEC Level 1 qualification and equivalent maths and English
