s superstar football teams go, Paris SaintGermain is among the youngest but also among the greatest. Its history only began a mere 50 years ago, when it began life as a merger between two lacklustre teams with one ambition: to restore elitelevel football to Paris. While in the following decades it achieved some successes, its achievements were boosted enormously after the purchase of the club by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) in 2011. Since that time, it has become the most successful football club in France and has attracted many of the world’s greatest football players to its ranks. In the initial years under QSI, it was star player Zlatan Ibrahimović who helped the team to victory, winning three consecutive Ligue 1 titles from 2013 to 2015. Football icon David Beckham was among those who also brought their skills to the team. More recently, in 2017, the club made headlines when it arranged for two world-class football stars, Neymar and Mbappe, to join it. Today, the club is one of the most popular in

the world, with over 100 million social media followers, and is a testament to Qatar’s commitment to sports internationally and at home.
