Being a woman who designs for women, I believe the most important component to our design is our fit. We have mastered the way in which our corsets fit and are comfortable for all women. It has always been important for me to have a line that looks beautiful as well as feels comfortable for our customers. Your collections are made in the US. How important is this to you and what does it mean for your clientele? It’s very important to me that we produce our collections right in New York’s Fashion District— just blocks from our showroom. I travel the world and truly appreciate global fashion—from Paris to Shanghai, Milan to London, Doha to Moscow—but I am proud to be an American designer based in one of the world’s fashion capitals. Producing our dresses within three blocks of our showroom also allows us to maintain very tight quality control over every aspect of our clothing—if something is not quite right, we could fix it very quickly. Our customers from around the world appreciate that attention to detail. You have many celebrities who wear your designs. Which celebrity would you most like to see wearing Pamella Roland, and which item from this collection would you dress them in? I would love to see SS21 make its debut on the beautiful Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, and Jennifer Lopez. I feel these women really enjoy fashion and have fun getting dressed. Zendaya would look statuesque in Look 16 from SS21 our fuchsia double duchess satin one shoulder gown with a beaded strap. Cate Blanchett takes the most red carpet high fashion risk, which is why she would look amazing in look 19 - our lilac sequin and threadwork gown with a cape.

Jennifer Lopez always turns the red carpet into a runway and looks amazing in bright colors, which is why our finale look from SS21 - our coral sequin and ostrich feather caped gown - would be sure to land her on the best dressed list. Who epitomises the Pamella Roland woman? The Pamella Roland woman is diverse—we like to say that we dress all generations. I believe that’s why our customers connect with our brand so much. Every woman is unique, and we design for each of them. With a wide array of silhouettes available, the Pamella Roland woman is always able to find a flattering fit that is, most importantly, stylish and comfortable. Our customer is well travelled and is used to the finest fabrics and perfect fit. What is your greatest tip or style advice? Fit is key, so finding a fit that works for you will automatically make you feel more comfortable and confident. Find silhouettes that accentuate parts of your body that are flattering. It is difficult to maintain a style if you can’t relax enough to enjoy it. Your collections are often influenced by global locations. Where in the world are you most inspired? Travel and art have always been enormous sources of inspiration for me. Seeing the world and experiencing different cultures is always eye-opening and powerful, as is art. As a designer, we take the moments that impact us and incorporate these feelings of inspiration into our collections. Even though travel may be limited in certain regions, I have been able to experience the beautiful fall foliage in Aspen, Upstate New York, and Northern Michigan. Lately, all of these places with their natural beautiful colour palettes have deeply inspired me.
