Statement: I have been a resident of Buckley for more than 24 years. My children graduated from White River School District and four of my grandchildren are in attendance within the district. If reelected, I will continue to strive for responsible growth and development of our city. I will continue to listen and advocate for what the residents of Buckley truly want as our small town evolves, such as supporting our Police and Fire Department by voting for new and updated equipment. Wildlife is important to our city and should be considered as new land is being developed. That is why I spend numerous hours doing research on the Revised Code of Washington, the comprehensive plan and Buckley Municipal Code. I always want to ensure that all decisions are in accordance with legal requirements. I supported the residents’ rights to have open green space to enjoy. That is why I fought hard against the apartments being built near the Veterans Memorial and The Foothills Trail. I support our local businesses, senior center, youth center and our parks. I backed the Helmet ordinance to keep our youth safe while still enjoying activities outdoors. clbender12@gmail.com
