Statement: Fife is my hometown and where I proudly choose to live. Southeast Fife has been a part of my family for generations. My mother is a Fife native who owns Firwood Farm Alpacas. Serving my community these past four years on the Fife City council has been an honor. However, I have personally seen how hard changes have been on so many. My own grandmother was forced out of her home by development related projects.
Statement: Recently, my wife and I were blessed with our first baby. I’ve learned that a lot goes through the mind of a first-time parent. One thing at the top of that list is the kind of place I want for our son to grow up in.
Further changes are still coming to Fife, including the extensions of SR 167 and Canyon Road. As Fife continues to grow, we must be prepared to tackle the issues of traffic congestion, affordability and homeless in our region with a thoughtful community-minded approach. Every citizen plays a part. We will do this together. I will continue to listen and ensure that our long-term planning preserves Fife’s small-town charm, focuses on everything that makes Fife unique, and allows for as little disruption as possible for our beloved community. Three generations of my family have personally had a hand in building this city. The good work continues. I humbly ask for your vote. The future will be determined by all of us.
Community Service: Has served as both head and assistant basketball coach at Evergreen Lutheran High School for 9 years (2012-2021) for approximately 150-200 hours a year
Our city’s current and future growth is very exciting for those of us who have made our homes here, but these opportunities bring challenges. We have theft, drug use, and other crimes along our streets and spreading into our neighborhoods, an expanding homeless population, and vacant business spaces that should be filled. There are compassionate and effective solutions to these problems, but they need our focus. As someone who has chosen Fife for my home and my family, I will work to make Fife a safe and vibrant place for the schools, residents, and businesses that make up the foundation of our community. Safely walking through our city with your family to visit our businesses and parks should not be a fantasy, it should be an expectation. I’m asking you to trust me with your vote, and the opportunity to work toward that reality. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate your consideration.
