Elected Experience: Lakewood City Council 2010 to present Other Professional Experience: President of the Lakewood Multicultural Coalition (LMCC), secretary for State Air Force Association, chair for Pierce College Workforce Advisory board, Alumni Honorary Commander for the 62nd Airlift Wing Operations Group, and served as secretary for higher education through the Washington State Association of College Trustees (ACT) Education: AA Tacoma Community College, BA Evergreen State College, MA Chapman University in Organization Leadership. Community Service: Lakewood Rotary, past Trustee chair for Clover Park Technical College, boards served on: Community In Schools, Women’s advisory, Professional Women of Lakewood, Sound Transit and WA Credit Union League. Statement: I am honored to continue representing the residents of Lakewood and supporting Economic Development, maintaining our streets, expanding parks and recreational opportunities, creating a safe and prosperous community, increasing mental health service, and working to attract new businesses to our city. I’m am proud of the direction the City of Lakewood is going and happy to be a member of the team making it happen. As president of the Lakewood Multicultural Coalition (nonprofit organization), I strive to make a difference in the diverse community of Lakewood and the Greater Puget Sound Area, by providing a voice to all people and communities through celebration, empowerment and inclusion. Awards: A woman of Influence, by the Business Examiner. The Thomas Bradley Distinguished Citizens Award by the Western Province of KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY, INC. The Lifetime Service Aware through the Pierce County Chapter of Credit Union’s. I retired from Harborstone Credit Union after thirty six years of financial services. I am the mother of two sons and a daughter, grandmother and great grandmother. I will continue to work with community members, organizations, business leaders and elected officials to pool resources, cut cost and build strong communities.
