MAX BURROW DUBAI CREEK CAPTAIN Fellow Members,
It is hard to believe that we are already in May and that summer is almost upon us. I wish you safe travels should you be heading away over the coming months. If you are staying in Dubai, I hope you will enjoy some golf without the usual transition period between the grasses. The Bermuda is looking healthy with good coverage, so we should enjoy excellent playing conditions in comparison to typical years.

I
am pleased that David Taggart and his course maintenance team have been implementing the first phase of a Ghaf tree planting initiative, with more to come in various areas on the course. I hope this will provide a long-term net gain to biodiversity at the club following some of the tree losses in 2021.
In March we enjoyed a fantastic and well supported Members Party. Many thanks to the club and Park Hyatt for laying on a superb evening, with great entertainment, fireworks and an incredible F&B spread. I look forward to seeing how this will be outdone for next years 30th anniversary! Another highlight of recent months has been the successful defence of the UAE Ladies ICC by our Dubai Creek Ladies. Captain Beatrice and the team made it three victories in as many years in this seasonlong premier inter-club event for ladies. Many congratulations to all of those who represented the Creek throughout the season! I look forward to providing my full support to the Mixed Open on Saturday 21st May 2022, which was a fantastic event in 2021. The event will once again be supported by Park Hyatt, with excellent on course (and post round) food and beverages. I encourage as many of our members and guests to join us for what will be a great event. Best wishes, Max Burrow
