Plumbing Level 1 This course includes domestic and industrial pipework fabrication as well as an introduction to electrical installation.
This course is designed to give you an introduction to plumbing, heating, electrical installation and other building services trades. You will also cover subjects such as refrigeration and air conditioning, which will provide a solid grounding for the general construction trades. You will spend one day a week in our specialist practical workshops, developing the hand skills and techniques necessary for successful progression to a relevant Level 2 course of your chosen specialism (plumbing or electrical installation), employment in the building services industry or working as an apprentice. You will spend the rest of your time gaining the essential theoretical knowledge which will underpin your future career and study choices. Many plumbers and electricians progress to design, consultancy, teaching and management, making the building services industry a career with a wide range of future pathways. Qualification City & Guilds Level 1 in Building Services Duration One year Course Content Topics you will cover include: • Plumbing and Heating • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Operations • Fundamental Electrical Installation Operations The Level 1 Diploma is assessed through written and practical centre-marked assignments, and online examinations.
