Factors influencing work motivation among radiographers Katre Vares, Laura Marleen Reissar, Tiina Kukkes Abstract This is a quantitative study which is based on a questionnaire. The aim of this study is to describe the factors which influence the motivation of radiographers at their work. Identifying work motivation factors and an accurate analysis will give information about the departments that participated in the study, which therefore will give the opportunity to improve working conditions and job management. In addition, connections between motivational factors and demographic data were found and the results were compared with the study results made in 2009. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The data was collected between 01.04.2019-14.04.2019. 80 radiographers were registered and 87.5% of them answered the questionnaire. The study concludes that radiographers experience the most following motivation factors: steady employment (100%), regular salary (98,6%), free health control (97,1%), opportunity to help patients (95,8%) and friendly colleagues. Rarely experienced factors are acknowledgement by the management (82,8%), participation in research (75,8%), that salary for work depends on personal effort (74,3%) and the opportunity to accomplish personal goals.Comparing results with the previous study results conducted 10 years ago, the unimportant factors have stayed the same. In addition to the friendly colleagues and good salary, radiographers valued management’s acknowledgement and the existence of modern work devices.
